My child is 6yrs old. When we go to Italy this summer I am not going to freak out over sculptures and paintings. To say it's the same as someone flashing him is just plain everyday white bread boring stupid. Little Lord Fauntleroy is going to Italy and you’re calling me white bread stupid? How nice for you that you can afford it. Many cannot because the Democrat party has made it impossible to buy basic things. Of course you and Getty and others aren’t thinking about that now are you? Typical elitist trash. Why do you resent people who prioritize travel or have some money? |

Do you think it’s appropriate to show six graders a penis whether it’s on a real man, a statue, or whatever it is? Yes or no? I'm much more interested in the fact you think David is the "one single statue that was naked showing a penis" i.gzn.jp/img/2016/05/11/old-statues-penises/006.jpgSex ed is very pedestrian. I had a week long age appropriate sex ed class in 6th grade in the 70's. I then had another quarter class in sex ed in either 9th or 10th grade, also age appropriate. Awesome class. One of the best teachers I had in high school. Learned a lot that my parents would never have talked to me about. You would have hated everything about it. |

My kid isn’t some prude. We went into family bathrooms with my wife and it never been a big deal whether or not the kid gets a glance at anything. If a kid can’t figure out that males have penises and women have breasts/vaginas by age 5, then that is a problem.  Holiday obviously speaks as someone who wants to tell others what is appropriate while never accepting that there are other choices. |

When I was in Florence, I think I like this statue better than David anyway.  Oh wait, he's also naked! And he is holding a severed head, which really should be more upsetting than seeing a naked guy. |

I love art.I love the statue of David, despite my love of art I don’t think it’s appropriate for a sixth grader to look at the statue. It’s that simple. |
