Interesting that NKYVC 17s coach was not at SummerFest and not listed on the AES roster. Does anyone know if he is finishing the season or moved on? Also might be a factor in the Saturday performance if that was the first day of competition with new leadership. They are a very talented group. Correct, he is no longer the coach of the team. I don’t know any details, just heard through the grapevine over the weekend that he had left the club (and possibly the area). Didn’t sound like anything scandalous. Maybe a new job opportunity. I’m guessing the club director will step in and coach them for the rest of the season.

At Summerfest this weekend, NKYVC went 0-3 on Day 1 in Power Pool A, Then they went 4-0 on Sunday to win Gold in 17 Open. Teenagers, man. They like to keep things interesting! They’re one of the best teams in the country. I would have to think maybe some players were missing?

They’re one of the best teams in the country. I would have to think maybe some players were missing? I don’t know the answer to that. I did see Tyler Collins (coach of that team the last couple years prior to this one) and Jill Hunt (club director, Julia’s Mom, and also excellent coach) are in the team picture on JVA’s Instagram posts of the winners. They may have had a hiccup on Saturday, but if those two coaches will be taking care of things from now until Chicago, they’ll be in good shape.

Tyler Collins is a heck of a coach. Not only does he do a good job of developing players, he seems to know how to manage teams with a lot of great players. It is not easy managing a team with girls from 6 or 7 different high schools and putting that together for an entire club season. Something to be said for what he does.

Following the happenings of 17 open at AAU in Orlando. After day 2, looks like the following teams are undefeated:

Should be fun watching the final days of competition.

It’s showing no data for 17 Open? 16s and 17s will be out mid to late week- they start July 3!

My apologies. In a 17 Open thread I should have realized you were looking for the 17s. But as was stated, they start later so the schedule will be out a bit later. In the meantime, enjoy the 14s and 15s.

Curious to see what Dynasty looks like next year. Will Pierce or Cisneros enroll early? Do Mullen & Messer play 17's again if they do?
