Back then Russia was considered the NT with the toughest serve, but how many real tough servers (judging with today’s eyes) did they have? Sokolova, Artamonova, Godina, stop. The other ones served feet on the ground. Cuba had only Aguero. I agree with that. I think the block in today's game is also much stronger across the board. My point really is that passing (and setting) are skills that are much more dependent on reps than pure physical talent. to be fair, i think this is an issue across the board in other sports. my bf is a basketball coach, and he talks about how a lot of kids that come into his middle school program haven't learned the fundamentals like how to dribble, footwork, shooting, etc. they just rely on their physicality to compete

So it seems all of the Americans might leave Beziers
Leave -> JWO, Lilley, Skinner, Mohler
Come -> French Libero, EMP, Hoffman, Gray

Bigger , stronger and faster and for some reason athletes who are really big or athletic sometimes struggle with fundamentals and technique. In most sports the athletes at the top really on physical advantages more than technique now. Even the ones who rely on technique and fundamentals still obviously have some physical advantages even though it’s not as obvious. Like Steph curry must have some incredible depth perception and krob also has some gift for her to be passing over 5 percent more perfect than the next best passing oh in a1, when everyone practices . Let’s not even get started on bosko, egonu and haak, they are the definition of bigger and stronger

I’ll stay on the train that I think she has NT potential but sorta plateaued staying under the same coach and system for 5 straight years

That combination is deadly

I've been thinking that the answer is to develop video-imaging in a way to efficiently chart actual physical movements and apply it to optimizing fundamental technique. We must be close to being able to accomplish that.

Sometimes egonu is questionable, out of all the big three she is the most I’m just going to out jump you and hit harder and sharper than you can defend type player. lol she likes to play bully ball

We must be close to being able to accomplish that. You mean charting the elite players and teaching it to the younger ones? Not really charting. Setting up sensors and video cameras to track velocity, location and movement of the ball and the athlete's body, and then a computer would take that info and visually chart the actual technique versus an optimized model.
