I think that will depend on how the other pin hitters develop. Her passing has been good enough to stay at OH, but I still think she is a better hitter and blocker on the right side. I think if Murphy is one of the best 3 hitters next year, she would stay at OPP, because she looks much more comfortable there than at OH.

Lost in the shuffle of a disappointing season for OSU… Londot finishing the year with a monstrous 5.06 k/s on the season.

If she’s truly coming back for a final season, the staff better put that to use and reconstruct the best lineup possible around her. Too big of a talent to waste what could be a dominant final season from her.

That lineup should include Rader (if she stays at OSU instead of grad transferring) for her offensive prowess in the middle, and Mia Tuman.

Other possibilities imo could include Hoffman as DS and maybe Egan dependent on the progress she makes (performance related). She’ll be well recovered from injury for next season.

JFO must make some competitive decisions this off-season with regards to transparency and roster/scholarship management.

3 areas to address: (I’d hope at least 2 of these are addressed)

1) A bonafide libero to go along with Hasbrook and Hoffman
2) An experienced, go-to pin hitter to pair with Londot and whoever wins the other spot between Sellman/Egan. Having both Sellman and Egan starting next year wouldn’t be wise imo.
3) A middle who can elevate this team’s blocking in a big way. OSU is one of the weaker blocking teams among their peer programs. They need a blocking first middle to pair with Rader’s offense at the middle spot.

Saw some discussion of the transfer portal tea thread regarding Thorpe entering the portal and thought it would be better suited to continue that specific chat here.
One of the posts said it was very surprising and thought Thorpe was a big part of JFO’s plan moving forward. I’d also note that JFO essentially sacrificed this season for the good of the young players, including Thorpe. Hate to see anyone leave, especially one who appears to have a very high ceiling!
