First class of 2025 commit for the Summit?
I don't see any clues in the likes. Just current and former players, families, fans. Maybe there's something on Instagram (which I don't use much)

Random trivia of the day: Just looked it up, here are the current conferences of former Midcontinent-Summit members (24): 8 Horizon League (Cleveland St, IUPUI, Oakland, Purdue-Ft Wayne, UW-Green Bay, UW-Milwaukee, Wright St, Youngstown St*4 MVC(UI-Chicago, UNI*, Missouri St, Valpo) 3 MAC( Akron*, Buffalo, N Illinois) 2 OVC( EIU*, WIU*) 1 WAC(S Utah) 1 Sun Belt(Troy St) 1 NEC(Central Conn St) 1 Independent D-1
(Chicago State) 1 NCAA D-II( Northern Michigan*) 1 NCAA D-III
(Centenary College) 1 discontinued athletics(Northeastern Illinois) *= founding member in 1978There's a local talking head in Omaha! that is convinced that St. Thomas will be in the Big East within a decade (private, large urban area, huge endowment). It's one that I could see after they fully transition to D1 and get a little better in basketball, they have the money to succeed. Unlike most of the current summit schools, they're not a former member of the D2 North Central Conference as far as I'm aware so there's no "history" there. Well, history that any one remembers. Wait, I looked it up, St. Thomas was a member of the Summit 1922-1928 if any one cares. Go Jays/Go Mavs!

Nice factoid, I wasn't aware of that. and BTW, Creighton was also a founding NCC member in the same time frame 1922-1928 before joining the MVC. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Central_Conference

I've been hearing this rumor a lot lately, although I didn't hear about the 10-year timeframe before. I'm not sure how they'll fare volleyball wise. Looks like they face Depaul this year so that will something to go off of. DePaul took Marquette and Creighton to five last year.

Looks like Matt Buttermore had something to say about getting the first announced commitment in the conference instead…. Shots fired, rivalry renewed…
Looks like Faith is the #4 MB/ #19 overall player in Nebraska's 2025 class according to Prep Dig.

Boom!
Based on twitter follows, I think Sierra was this staff's top 2025 target still on the board. She plays with 2024 USD recruits Medick and Bode on Premier Nebraska, too.

So I have to take off my impartial Summit League hat for a moment, and put on my Coyote fan hat.
Evelyn Diederich was an unexpected highlight for me last season, and I never initially took her seriously as an OH, given her size….
Holy crap, she proved me wrong, and was a 5’-8” red-headed spark plug for the Yotes! For anyone who enjoys watching undersized hitters succeed…. You may want to pay attention….

I love watching these types of players (Chicoine, Gillen, Head, Luper, etc.) Adding Diederich!

I don't know how I missed it until now, but Juhnke is not on SD's roster for 2023. I assumed she'd be back. Guess the knee couldn't handle it. Big bummer.

Yea :/ It got changed to student assistant (down with the staff) last week or the one before. I assume her knee was similar to Jaela zimmerman's.... just no coming back from that (soon anyways)

That's a huge loss. I figured that SD would edge Omaha for the league title again, but I might revise my expectation.
Aside, Pendergast has quickly reloaded Denver's roster with some quality transfers. They should be more competitive than I had originally thought they would.

Wow I hadn’t heard that about St. Thomas. Not surprised. They are getting stuff done quick. New basketball arena, new Softball and Baseball fields are in the process. VB has added some recruits. I think year 1 they had like 2 girls over 6 feet. Now they have a lot and a couple right under.

But I do think the Yotes return a lot of pieces from a championship team. Fifth-year Libero Lolo Weidemen, and senior RS Aimee Adams graduate, but everyone else (Sans Juhnke) is back, including all-conference MB Madison Harms, and another starting 5th-year 6-3 MB Brynn Paumen. We will have lots of experience in the backcourt. Just need a hitter or two to emerge. I guess we will have to see. Should be a fun season!

Guessing South Dakota has done this for awhile? Cool idea letting season ticket holders attend practice.

Guessing South Dakota has done this for awhile? Cool idea letting season ticket holders attend practice. I’m not sure if this is new or not, but this staff and program have done a lot to engage the fans and bring them into the process. Coach Williamson will do a VB 101 and Q&A before a couple of home matches each year, anyone can attend. Trying to teach anyone interested about the sport, and grow the base. Pretty smart. Of course, winning doesn’t hurt in the process, too…. It’s a pretty tight knit community. Like a small town high school team. The fans that go to a lot of matches and events end up interacting with players and coaches a lot. Not completely unique or anything, but nice.
