What many don’t realize or they may these kids are on hard timelines depending on the school offering. For sure. I wish they weren’t, or I wish they were in a position to say I’ll go on my own timeline, but I’ll readily admit it doesn’t work that way. I will say it’s not just the school offering. It’s also the talent level of the kid. Think about the players that choose Stanford. They won’t even know for sure they’re accepted to the school until the process has played out. But for many of them they’re still recruited by a number of schools until late into the process. I bet if Spears chooses to drag things out a bit there might be quite a few schools that would save a spot for her. Not every school, simply because many programs would see it as a longshot. But a lot of them.

Unfortunately it won’t ever make an impact without naming names, and then that opens up a whole kettle of fish he doesn’t want any part of. Coaches do this because it works. And it works because there’s no real consequences. Shaming is a consequence. But there’s no shame if there’s no outrage. I’m not actually saying he should name names. I’m saying his post amounts to virtue signaling and has no impact. In my opinion he’d be better off not saying anything. But that’s just my opinion.

Who the hell is Dennis Hohenshelt? It’s a mystery. With that kind of name there’s no good way of finding out, either.

Not sure how it could be stopped because there is FOMO for both parties.

Not sure how it could be stopped because there is FOMO for both parties. I don't think the putting a timeline on an offer can be stopped. But sending double messages is well within coaches' power to stop. That's not going to happen, either, but it could. Meh. Roster construction is both critical and tricky. Someone's feelings are going to be hurt. Someone is going to feel rejected. Not just in recruiting, but once they get to campus, too. Playing time is not an unlimited resource. It's not just players, either. Plenty of coaches feel betrayed after they've invested a lot of time and effort in a student athlete only for them to respond by choosing some place else. I don't know. Feels like a lot of life type stuff. Human interactions are tricky.

....so she just wants to be in LA? Seems that way by the sound of it So Alevok's dream school is UCLA but then she posted that she got an offer from UCLA? I wonder what long game she's playing. It's very interesting. Take all the time girlie! EDIT: They have camp this weekend. Maybe, she will decide afterwards.

Take all the time girlie! she's probably waiting to see if she gets a better offer from a top tier program...ucla & usc have a ways to go to get back to the top but the one thing ucla & usc have going for them is joining the big 10 the following season (meaning live in sunny cali & play in the big 10)...it will be interesting to see how these cali schools perform in the big 10 in volleyball edit: to me she seems interested in texas
