Sigler is incredibly dynamic, but she's undersized. I can't imagine she'd be Nebraska's top target, but they will have tons of scholarships to give out for the 2025 year as I don't think that any of huge, much-hyped 2021 "dream class" are eligible to take a 5th year in 2025 as none of them redshirted in 2021. That's Krause (OH), Batenhorst (OH), Launstein (OPP), Orr (S), Rodriguez (L). They'll likely pick up the best setter and opposite they can find in the 2025 class, and maybe persuade that big time instate backrow player to walkon (*cough* pay through NIL). IMO, Nebraska would probably be best served to sign just one 2025 OH that already has a high level of pass to hit skills and stop there on the scholarship allocation and reserve them to poach players in the portal. Given the new rules that not only allow but actively encourage the big time programs with NIL resources to roster stack, it would seem borderline coaching malpractice to actually sign 4+ freshmen in any given class unless they are all Megan Hodge or Carlini type players. Weren't at least four of the five in that 2021 class supposed to be Hodge or Carlini type players? Well I know Orr definitely was hyped like she was God's third child (after Jesus and Carlini). Roddy had a lot a praise, but it's usually difficult for libero's to reach the hype level of the front row players. Re the OH's, meh - I think the consensus was that they were all great relative to their class, but didn't necessarily show early on that they'd be NCAA history greats. FWIW, being great, relative to their class (at least at the time of entering college), is the bare minimum if you are on scholarship at Nebraska. Nebraska just isn't the type of program that recruits under the radar players or takes a chance on players. The recruits that sign with them out of high school are known commodities. The latter, more important part of not only producing at a high NCAA level, but possibly entering that rarefied air of being brought up in conversation among the NCAA greats years later is a different question all together. IMO, there have only been three players that Nebraska has signed recently that I've seen in prep play that I thought, wow, ok, I feel like we will be talking about them long after college, and those players are Allick in 2022, Jackson in 2023, and Aymes in 2024. Everyone else they recruit are certainly high-quality volleyall players but, IMO, just seemed a bit more in that over-hyped category because of the aurora of USAV pipeline and being a Nebraska recruit, blah blah blah, etc. etc. That's just my opinion, not saying it will be right or wrong, just what I see.

I hope that Nebraska does get Mullen if they are recruiting her hard. She should fit in well with the '23 class as 4 of them played with her wih the USA U19 team. She is also friends with '24 recruit Skylar Pierce as well as being club teammates.

If I had one scholarship to give in 2025 for an OH, I'd probably want Kaci Demaria. She's not a particularly heavy hitter among her peers, but adding more pop to the ball can come in time. IMO she's a more skilled OOS attacker than who we all know - M. Spears, and I think in today's game, attacking OOS is more important, and more impressive, than big bangers against poorly formed defenses, but, unfortunately, what usually gets circulated around the masses among the highlight reels are the in-system, big time attacks from big jumping hard hitting attackers with a lot of court to hit into.

I also really like Kelly Kinney in the 2025 class. She's very skilled at using her wrist to avoid blocks, and she can put some pop behind the ball. Whoever gets her is going to be really happy. Hopefully she doesn't feel compelled to stay in state and let Mary Wise waste her talents.

Maybe I saw a bad game - but I was/am concerned about Demareia's passing to be the #1 2025 OH recruit. Vander Wal and Davis can hit out of system - while providing excellent passing. If I had one scholarship to give - really depends on the team. I could make the case that Sigler would be that person - extremely high floor for college. Can do everything other than be 6-2 +.

I definitely agree re Sigler. I'd surely want her on my team, I just dunno if Nebraska is going to bite. I don't usually watch much club below 16's but I recall this quote I made about Sigler (and Pixler and the L I'm blanking on the name) a couple years ago. Sigler is in 2025 to what Cisneros is in 2024 and Chicoine/Harvey is in 2023. We definitely know they are very very skilled volleyball players and under the right system in college, they can be high All-Americans. But would they thrive on any team? That, I'm not sure. Congrats to AZ Storm 14 Thunder on their win over TAV! 14 open National Champs! Way to represent AZ! I don't usually watch that much 14's because the play is so boring, but AZ Storm's Pixler, Sigler and their Libero are some of the best 14 year olds I've ever seen.

An excerpt from an article about Nebraska's Dream Team Camp last year: 6-foot-2 Arizona outside hitter Teraya “T” Sigler seemed to receive the most praise from Reyes during Sunday’s scrimmage. At one point, the assistant coach yelled “Got to shut down T over there, she’s killin’ everything!”
The top 150 watchlist prospect was killing everything. It seems to be her thing as she hit .542 with 392 kills as a freshman at Phoenix County Day to lead them to a 2A Conference Championship.
When asked which players she was most impressed with, Husker commit Jurevicius said Sigler immediately. She is definitely a name to watch.

Sigler is potentially 'capped' by her height. Now, I think colleges are too obsessed with this (see Debeer). Nebraska isn't recruiting many 6-0 OH - and 6-0 on Sigler looks like on the high side for her.

I skipped watching prep play this past year, but I plan on making more of an effort this season.

A MB I’ve had my eye on is Kennedy Washington from TAV… attends same high school as M. Spears and now that I’m looking at her recruiting Instagram account it looks like she’s actually a 2024 but playing with 16 Black so I assumed she was a 2025 G. Pitts (‘25 Libero) playing up with M. Spears on 17 Black is also a stud www.instagram.com/reel/Co2jvf4gndJ/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

G. Pitts (‘25 Libero) playing up with M. Spears on 17 Black is also a stud I've heard great stuff about her, as well. She's SO good. Started as a libero when she was 9, I think. Anyone watching her play back then knew she was a real one. Really good kid from a great fam, too.
