Another Todd Dagenais interviewInterview starts at 8:18. Talks about good and bad memories at time with UCF. At 16:11 he starts talking PVF. He's excited about the traditional ownership model. He is still taking about 8 owners. At 18:50 he starts talking about opportunities for players and competition level. He thinks they will start with a better class of volleyball than PR and thinks, eventually, they can rival Italy. He brings up my questions about players fears of going overseas due to politics or nutrition. At 22:26 he says his goal is to work hand-in-hand with the National Team. At 23:19 this is an opportunity to realize a dream to develop players for the International level. At 24:52 his hiring took a week. Sounds like he didn't even have to think about the move. At 26:06 Talks about the future of UCF At 32:28 he starts thanking people for opportunities. PVF Pre-Season in Jan, 24 matches start in Feb. Playoffs in June.

going into june is a bad idea... With only 4-8 teams "The Playoffs" could be just the top two teams playing for the championship. They might go 2 rounds and try to squeeze it into a single weekend: Semi's on Fri, championship on Sun?

I dont know for sure, but Puerto Rico needed special exemption from FIVB to play past this date last year.

Sydney Hilley is joining PVF News worth waking up to! Hope she slays! It's an interesting balance. I want this pro league to succeed so it's exciting for some of the top Americans to play in it. However, if we want to win another gold at the Olympics or World Championships, playing in a shortened, less-competitive league doesn't help. US Men's soccer has been dealing with this. It's great that the MLS exists, but it still seems important that the best US soccer players play in Europe. I would think Karch still wants top athletes to be in Europe, although he may not say that publicly. Over time, can the league get good enough that it's better for Americans to stay here? I hope so! But it won't start that way. Edit: this isn't a Hilley-specific comment. She didn't even make the large VNL roster. Just a general thought.

Hearing through the grapevine that a lot of talent is coming, including players that played in last year's Final Four.

Just a general thought. on the counter, I think it will (or can) help keep talent playing... they dont need to be NTers, but good enough players to have the league be above Puerto Rico and challenge some of the non Italy/Turkey Euros leagues and maybe they'll find a gem to help expand the NT pool. like Hilley, Edmond, Rosenthal, Stone, etc would all be done playing without the league (or AU)... all four of them could be playing for top teams in Germany/France/wherever right now if they wanted to. There are some NT members interested in PVF. So I guess we'll see.

So I guess we'll see. I’m with you on this take. There are a lot of players who want to keep going but just don’t want to have to play internationally to do so, just look at Hentz. Leagues like PVF and LOVB will give players a domestic option and help with a lot of the depth issues we’re seeing on the NT level. I think that the main thing that could make or break this league will be the compensation packages. From what I’ve read on here, quite a few of the euro leagues include living expenses and vehicles along with salary. If the US leagues don’t offer similar packages, they’re not going to attract a lot of players who can get better contracts elsewhere.
