trojansc I'm so happy for you! Impressive win! DR's results have been very impressive over the years, considering population density.

It's been a tough VNL for DOM - not many breaks in the schedule, they've played a ton of sets (10 of 11 matches have gone 4 or 5 sets). Really thrilled for this result.
These were crucial ranking points - and confidence heading into the Olympic Qualifier that China will host. They'll get a crack at Serbia tomorrow, who they will also face in the IOQT.

bruh jineiry's stat line is ridiculous 17-1-21, 1 block, 4 aces Kwiek serving subbed for her in the 5th set too and I was screaming. Bringing in DS's has really helped passing - but I wish he would just let Jineiry serve and do that sub afterwards. Her defense is good enough and her serve can really get teams in trouble.

Jineiry had a fantastic match. She kinda reminds me of Cuba’s middles in their heyday

Dominicana can play spoiler and potentially keep Serbia out of the VNL Finals if they can somehow take down Boskovic tomorrow.
It's a ridiculously short turnaround (they play Serbia in 13 hours).

She had a few bad plays, but, I thought her decision-making was pretty on point and set location was as good as you're gonna get from her. I think DR's ball control was slightly better than normal and the DS's are really helping DR avoid bleeding so many points on serve receive. I keep thinking DR has moved past De La Cruz - but at this point I'd rather have Betty out there over Yonkaira, definitely over Peralta. I think Betty/Yonkaira split might be best - Yonkaira can get hot but having to depend on her too much has really taken a toll.

With tonight's results, DR and Netherlands are both above Germany in World Ranking. It's all so close (and Canada is right there too). Belgium has lost some crucial points with recent losses but is still in there as well. It's gonna be really interesting to see how much separation will occur by the start of VNL 2024 or if they stay really jumbled up in the race to Paris.
