Louis is not a replacement, he’s been a main target for a while. Some money opened up with a few unexpected transfers so why not bring him in? An early Xmas gift to Warrior fans! Do you know what's going on with Aleksa Mandic? I hope he'll still be with the team. Was looking forward to seeing him play with the guys.

Charlie announced officially on the Bobby Curnan show this morning that his son is working extremely hard to reclassify as a 2024. This would be huge with our 2 starting outsides graduating after this year. Kainoa is one of the local stars I mentioned mostly walking on to UH. Kainoa will be able to get some NIL deals. Perfect! Similar to Aiden Knipe being a walk on at LBSU with dad as HC. Having a stud like Kainoa walk on frees up so much potential scholarship money we would normally have to shell out for a recruit like that had it not been Charlie's son.

So are you implying that Mandic is transfering? I don't think he said that. I think Koa is only replying to some that are bringing up that he was brought in as a replacement for another player that either never signed or is currently not on the roster like a Mandic or even a Gajek which Hawaii was going after and even a Lamoreux whom hasn't committed anywhere as of yet. Koa seems to be reaffirming that Sakanoko was a recruit UH was going after hard even before other recruits dropped off. He is no replacement.

FYI. The music in the background is "Out of My League" (Fitz and the Tantrums).

Is this our first Frenchman?
Typically, they do well in men's volleyball as others already noted. Winning gold in the last Olympics 1st in u19 and 4th u22. France is doing something right with their national team programs (especially at the younger age groups) and I'm very excited about what the future holds with possibly more France national team-type players on our target list.

Watched him play against Portugal and he got yanked for bad passing in the first set and never came back in a five set match. Henno is the superstar hammer on that team.

We all know what Henno can do. Sakanoko is likely part of the future puzzle to what our options are at opposite. Even more needed now that Mandic, another expected piece, is looking like he might not be an option this year.

Opposite is not going to be the problem, Hawaii is losing two great outsides in Spyros and Chaz. That’s the massive hole that needs to be filled.

Wade also mentioned Finn could also be a possibility. Both Mandic and Sakanoko are listed as OH/OPP so what seems to be the pattern is Wade my be looking for offense first. Find potent pin hitters(both left and OPP) and see is they can transition to another position to put the best players on the floor. The only true OH with ball control and recruited in the last 2 classes seemed to be Kai Rodriquez. Everyone else seem to be more of point getters than ball control OHs. Could be Charlie trying to make future Warrior teams more physical. The size of the kids coming in and those we are going after are as tall are we ever had. We could have a potential front line of 6-8 Kainoa Wade, 6-10 Roman Payne and 6-8 Tread Rosenthal in a couple of years……and that’s not even adding 6-10 OH Grant Lamoreaux to the mix.The smurfs of the team will be guys like Mandic/Sakanoko and Kearny at 6-6…LOL

Opposite is the problem this year while Hawaii doesn't have Dimi and waits for Kearney. Outsides are a next year problem. That said between Kainoa reclassifying, Aleksa potentially returning to the roster, and Rodriguez possibly filling Chaz' position on the floor defense, there's hope there. Sakanoko is also a possible switch to outside when Kearney comes in. Filling Spyros and Chaz' roles will be difficult no doubt, but there is some solid depth in the outsides that keeps me hopeful.

I think what makes it interesting is that both Chaz and Spyros came in sporting all-around games that bolstered the Warriors. Thelle is a Hawaii legend but those knees needed all the ball control provided by the aforementioned men. The positive is that Chaz and Spyros will be with the team for one more season to bridge the gap, if there is any. I also think the coaching staff has proven that they can train their athletes at a high level.

The first match against Loyola Chicago is just over three weeks away. Does anyone have any insight/guesses when ticket sales will open up?
