Agree that the bracket was/is brutal for Oshkosh, who's heading towards being swept. (It's 17-10 CMS as I type this with the Athenas having won the first two sets.)

CMS won with ease, 25-18, 25-17, 25-17.
The CMS fans created an electric atmosphere.

Oshkosh certainly didn't look like a one seed. Start/finish time not good for midwest team, finishing just before 1am back in Wisconsin.

True, Oshkosh did not look right from the first few points and never got started.

How late was it? The NCAA scores page has the Oshkosh-CMS score reported as a Thursday match.

Hope wins in 5. Vanderweide with 23 kills and hit .438 Really thrilled to see former Iowa Hawkeye Addie VanderWeide thriving at Hope College. First team AA. Fantastic stats last night. Chance to win a NC. Wow. Way to go Addie. For her sake, go HOPE! (Looks like Hope will need to clean up the serve receive if it is to advance. g3 loss, 28-26. Might have swept JH but for all the SEs?)

So with Oshkosh gone, Juniata, who already beat CMS @cms has to be a pretty good favorite. Trinity became just the 2nd opponent this season to score 20 points in 3 sets (Wittenberg did it opening weekend) but that's a much as I can point to as cracks in their apparent dynasty.
NYU, Hope, Oshkosh and others almost certainly played tougher schedules and are more battle tested than Juniata, but having lost just 6 sets all season, that's because nobody has been able to give them a battle. Can NYU or Hope/CMS?

Can NYU or Hope/CMS? Just a minor point, but the Juniata-CMS match earlier this year was at Cal Lutheran, so technically a neutral court match. I was there for the first two matches yesterday, but given how far everything was running behind, opted not to stay for the late two matches. Definitely some great matches for the Elite Eight. Everything was a battle. Great for the spectators in attendance! Oh, and Go Eagles! Here's to hoping there really are no cracks in our dynasty ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

How late was it? The NCAA scores page has the Oshkosh-CMS score reported as a Thursday match. Would have been right around 11pm local time (1am central)

Can NYU or Hope/CMS? Juniata's serving is so strong and NYU struggles with ball control -- not sure they will be in system enough to challenge the champs. On the flip side, Juniata's S/R is super solid and when they're in system, almost unstoppable. Have not seen Hope/CMS play in person and on film a lot gets lost in translation, but if they can serve well and keep JC out of system, they have a chance. I did not think JC played well last night, compared to what I have seen on other matches

Juniata wins.
Hope is up 2-0.
And it's stinkin' late. It is hard to stay awake for this.

I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen a 5th set going point for point like that. Very exciting!
