PAC-12 Sunday conclusion (5-0). Overall 22-11. Could have been better, but decent start. Oregon (3-0) W 3-0 vs. Hawaii ASU (3-0) W 3-0 vs. Ole Miss CAL (3-0) Stanford (2-0) WSU (2-1) W 3-0 vs. Troy Colorado (2-1) W 3-0 vs. UNT Washington (2-1) UCLA (1-1) Utah (1-1) USC (1-2) W 3-0 vs. USM Arizona (1-2) Oregon State (1-2) PAC is 13-4 for the week through Friday, another improvement. SC@Hawaii and Stanford @ Texas are the two toughest remaining match-ups, but we need everyone else to take care of business, particularly UCLA & UW at the Long Beach tourney.

I feel like these matches are what really swing the PAC-12 one way or another next week. Win a bunch of these and the conference is looking much better than its bleak start: USC (at Hawaii, x2) UCLA (Indiana, Long Beach State) Washington (Indiana, Long Beach State) Utah (UNLV/Utah State) Oregon State (Boise State/Oklahoma) Cal (Portland State) Arizona State (UTEP) Arizona (Iowa State/Grand Canyon) well…asu did our job and beat utep in four. 🥴 to arizona. something is going on tucson and it isn’t passing, i’ll tell you that

It looks like GCU is up on Arizona, but worst case scenario and Cats lose, the PAC recovers to 24-6 week. 2 teams (SC and Arizona) would be responsible for almost half of the conference's losses, and both still have a loss or two more remaining in the non-con schedule. Shame them appropriately.

Southern Cal has San Diego at home, Illinois and Purdue on the road. They lose one of these and they are 5-5 going into Pac 12 play.

I don’t see them running the table into conference.

Even with USC and Arizona embarrassing us, I still think we are tracking better than the Big 10.

Congrats to the players, but not sure Stanford should have gotten the awards when they went 1-1. I guess they were rewarded for beating Texas.

hmmmm.... Pac-12 RPI Week 3 Grades:
A+: Cal (3-0): Ok Cal!!!!! Saving the conference because some of these schools are a F*ing disaster...way to not add to it, given the recent history and program drama. Also Texas State on the road is a GREAT win. Washington State (3-0): Big time RPI wins against BYU and Towson...other than 2 sets, they made it look easy. Come on Cougs, take out Baylor and Texas!
A: ASU (3-0): Very good wins Stanford (2-0): Acting like a team that wants to be a top seed and not embarrass the conference
B: Washington (3-0): Gelling as a team and taking care of business at home when it matters most
B-: Oregon (1-1): Very close to being 2-0, and should have won that Minny match. It was on a neutral floor, but still, this was on friendly Pac territory. Oregon State (2-1): I don't expect TOO much from OSU, however, they could have won that last match. Cal Baptist doesn't even sound like a D1 team
B: Utah (2-1): We know Utah is in a massive rebuilding year but they were ALMOST 3-0 on the week, losing 22-20 in the first set to UCSB..... that's respectable, in my book.
C+: Colorado (1-1): Solid win against Witchita State (which I think will end up being an RPI boost for Colorado once conference play starts), but I think Colorado was good enough to take out Kansas.
F: Arizona (0-2): Nobody expected you to beat Wisconsin, but to be swept by Miami FL with two of the set scores being -13 and -17!? Like, WTF, I'm so over Arizona at this point it's not even funny. The PAC is done, and thankfully Washington does not need to be affiliated with this utter mediocrity for the foreseeable future. Good riddance.
TBD: UCLA (If they win against Hawaii, A, if they lose, B) USC (If they win against San Diego, B+, if they lose, C)
