Huh. I just learned Paul Reubens (Pee Wee Herman) died a few days ago (July 30, 2023). He had his share of legal troubles (1991, 2002). There was an obscenity charge including the possession of child pornography materials in 2002. The child porno charges were eventually dropped but he pled guilty to the misdemeanor obscenity charge. He said he was a collector of erotica. {yikes!} You can read about it online.
I always considered him as a sad sad guy. Imagine having to do the Pee Wee schtick your entire life.

I can barely watch that youtube clip. But I had a very low tolerance for Pee Wee Herman to begin with. The first thing he ever did as his Pee Wee Herman character was appear on The Dating Game TV show when he was starting out. His first of three appearances is below. He actually won once. I remember seeing him win back when it was on TV. The other 1 contestants couldn't believe it. Apparently shows like The Dating Game were well known by young actors just starting out that couldn't afford agents as a way to audition. Its definitely cringeworthy. |
