Weekend round up:
4 teams went 2-0 on the week: Utah State (who seems to be becoming the forerunner) beat Nevada and Fresno State both 3-0; Boise State beat Nevada and Fresno State also both 3-0; Wyoming got their conference going beating Col State 3-1 and San Jose State 3-0; and New Mexico surprised UNLV 3-0 and beat San Diego State 3-1. Utah State and Boise State face off this week of two teams that are 5-1 in the conference.
Air Force, Colorado State, and UNLV all went 1-1.

MWC Standings of teams with winning overall records. Utah St continues to be the front runner. Fresno State and New Mexico have been coming on strong, while early promise by UNLV and Colorado St has faded.

Utah left a long time ago, so maybe no one in the conference remembers or cares about it anymore. But given the circumstances surrounding Salvo’s transfer I’m very surprised the conference would recognize her when there are plenty of other worthy nominees. |
