The banner should consist of nothing but a gigantic asterisk.

The banner should consist of nothing but a gigantic asterisk. Playing in the MWC tournament doesn’t earn you a banner. I don’t think they’d win, so probably not much to see there.

Still too early to predict who makes the Mountain West Tournament? Top 6 teams go right? Colorado St 5-1 Fresno 4-2 SJSU 4-3 Utah St 4-3 San Diego St 3-3 Boise St 3-3 UNLV 3-3 Nevada 3-3 Wyoming 2-4 New Mexico 2-4 Air Force 1-5 Yes 6 teams. Top 2 get a bye. I think these top 4 in the standings will be in for sure. The remaining 2 are a toss up but Id favor UNLV amd Boise St, but we will see. if Boise st gets in, then 3 if those teams will possibly forfeit 🤷🏻♀️

You meant if SJSU gets in though I'm assuming. Will the MWC tournament allow teams to forfeit in the tournament? If so, SJSU will advance their way right into the tournament.

You can order a banner for just about anything. I used to design them, and some schools really had to scrounge for some accomplishments to put on there. Hell one random citizen even called up and ordered a banner for himself, because he won his fantasy football league. No rules, just pricing.

Will the MWC tournament allow teams to forfeit in the tournament? How would the MWC go about "not allowing" a forfeit? They can't force anybody to participate in a match.

You would treat it the same way they do in football or revenue sports--they can forfeit but could suffer financial penalties and have to pay damages. It's debatable as to whether any damages (revenue) would be lost, but I could see if it they went to the tournament and then forfeit the game.

Non-conference game contracts typically have financial penalties built into them for cancelling or failing to appear. I'm not aware of that being a thing for conference games.

It doesn't happen because these things are covered by the TV contracts. The TV partner would be the one who would have to sue. Would they? It probably would depend on the reason.

if the MOuntain West Confy tournament held
Co State #1 Fresno State #2 SDSU #3 San Jose State #4 (unless factor in 4 more certain wins making SJSU 10-3 so SJSU right now would jump to the #1 seed if those were counted today
then it is interesting #5 Utah State #6 Boise State #7 Wyoming #8 Nevada #9 UNLV
all of whom sans UNLV will get 1 more loss. plus the conference is pretty much headed to a 1st round forfeit and very possible 2nd round forfeit in the tournament
unlikely, but SJSU could literally not play a match in the tournament and get the auto-bid

If you had enough seniors on the team, would they change their minds for the tournament? It's one thing to forfeit one regular season match, it's another to forfeit a chance to win the conference or a chance at a bid.

As a whole, the conference has performed much worse compared to last year in RPI. Definitely only one team getting into the tournament this year. Wyoming, Utah St, Boise St, and San Diego State have been trending up. If Fresno state doesn't even make the MWC tournament with most of their players back from last year that would be a bit surprising, considering they won the tourney last year.
