Hi VT! Hope everyone is doing well and getting jazzed for the upcoming NCAA season : ). Thought I'd start a conversation about match thread creation while it's on my mind. Last year, eazy got us thinking about this ahead of the season and I know I appreciated it. It would be great to get some sense of who's currently planning to make which match threads this year. Figured I'd start by tagging the folks who regularly made match threads last year for specific teams and conferences to see whether they're expecting to do so again this year: exit237a - Illinois 2023 confirmed + other Big Ten rainbowbadger - Wisconsin 2023 confirmed + some Marquette + other Big Ten ilikecorn - Nebraska 2023 confirmed baytree - Stanford & other Pac-12 2023 confirmed + various WCC JJVb - Oregon State 2023 confirmed + Pac-12 help as needed + various WCC, MWC manyshaped - Arizona & ASU 2023 confirmed + Pac-12 help as needed Cubicle No More ... - Hawaii 2023 confirmed, rest of Big West? trainermch - Florida? eazy - Louisville 2023 confirmed JT - Minnesota 2023 confirmed New Match Thread Openings for 20231. SEC That'll get us started and we can start to see where we might have some new match thread gaps, opportunities, and whether folks would like to cover their usual teams and maybe even new ones. Posters have previously expressed appreciation for some amount of match thread coordination- this is all in that same spirit. *Anyone I haven't tagged here is also obviously welcome and encouraged to make match threads, too! If you're interested in getting involved that way, this might be a good thread to chime in and express interest. The folks listed above are just our usual suspects that come to mind from last year, plus I'm sending up the bat signal in hopes that trainercdf comes back to the board : ). And if you were a regular match threader last year who I've missed, your omission here was unintentional. I'm becoming more forgetful in my old age. Thanks! |

I won’t have as much time this season to do match threads so someone else can take SEC ones if that want/are able

I’ll definitely take Louisville again (maybe all the way back to another national championship thread??).
Will pick up whatever else I can from our master weekly match thread thread.

No plans to do match threads for the WCC this year. Not even sure how much I'll be able to follow the WCC. Not sure about any BYU ones. Other than Texas does anyone do match threads in the Big 12?

Hmm... I'm retired. I'll volunteer for Minnesota matches.
@b1gminnesotafan - do you have a template that I can start from (or should I just walk back and grab one from a last-year thread)?

I want to do the Stanford threads and am happy to do other PAC threads. If I have time, I will try to do important WCC matches that no one is covering.

houstonbear15 has been known to put out Baylor match threads from time to time. And that's about it for regular/occasional Big 12 match thread generation over the past couple seasons. Other more sporadic match threads get made every now and then for other Big-12 teams, if memory serves. |

I want to do the Stanford threads and am happy to do other PAC threads. If I have time, I will try to do important WCC matches that no one is covering. I can do Oregon State and other PAC ones you dont get to, and back up for WCC and maybe important MWC ones too. |

Is there a standard for who does the match thread when both teams have someone ready? (E.g. when MN plays IL)
Home team’s poster makes the thread? Visiting team’s poster makes it? Fastest poster wins?

Fastest poster wins? I believe in that situation, if there are two posters who routinely make threads for a team that the home team will make the match thread |
