I don't think he's going to be a "clear favorite" at all against Trump. Biden is really vulnerable, his support has crashed among key constituencies, and the EC creates a real opening for Trump. Biden beats Trump. There is no place Trump can pick up voters. People are not going back to the chaos Trump created as president, especially when they are reminded of that everyday.

So why are you touting it then? When you know there’s an ulterior motive for them supporting it. Giving incentives is typical for government programs. It’s been done forever and by whatever party is in power. You’re being a bit silly with this argument about “ulterior motives”. Giving someone a tax credit or making a payment to them isn’t an ulterior motive, it a clear incentive. No, you are not understanding. These ranchers get a big paycheck for hosting their property for these wind farms. As broke as some rancher are its to good a deal to pass up. So of course they’re for it even if they’re Republican.

I actually think the indictments led to the pinnacle of Trump support and now the actual court testimonies will be the bubble-bursters that lose any holdout independents for the GOP.

Tell that to the birds that migrate, remember when Democrats cared so much about the birds and whales and the environment. That’s gone to hell. You keep spinning and spinning as you ignore the species of animals going extinct because of climate change. You people are idiots. In the name of climate change you will end up doing the opposite of what your intentions were. Do you know how many migrant birds are killed by wind turbines? You don’t care. Do you know how many whales are being killed by windfarms because of the sonar signals given off? You’ll figure it out but it will be too late as usual because Democrats are idiots.

Sea level rise, melting glaciers, and shifting wildlife range are just a few of the costs of carbon pollution that are threatening wildlife. Locally, drought, wildfires, and extreme weather events have been increasingly common across the US and have had negative impacts on wildlife and human communities." "As oceans absorb carbon dioxide (CO2), they become more acidic. This affects the ability of reef-building corals to grow their skeletons and form the foundation for coral reefs. Weaker skeletons also make corals more vulnerable to disease and destruction by storms." In regard to whales and their food: "increased seawater acidity reduced Antarctic phytoplanktons' ability to build strong cell walls, making them smaller and less effective at storing carbon."

Look out for the 14 Amendment. I’m sure Merv will chime in to show off his constitutional prowess. Especially if he can add an insult or two.

To the energy Luddites in our midst - Renewables are happening, they're happening fast, there's nothing you can do about it, and you better believe this is a good thing: The Clean Energy Future Is Arriving Faster Than You Think The United States is pivoting away from fossil fuels and toward wind, solar and other renewable energy, even in areas dominated by the oil and gas industries.Delivery vans in Pittsburgh. Buses in Milwaukee. Cranes loading freight at the Port of Los Angeles. Every municipal building in Houston. All are powered by electricity derived from the sun, wind or other sources of clean energy.
Across the country, a profound shift is taking place that is nearly invisible to most Americans. The nation that burned coal, oil and gas for more than a century to become the richest economy on the planet, as well as historically the most polluting, is rapidly shifting away from fossil fuels.
A similar energy transition is already well underway in Europe and elsewhere. But the United States is catching up, and globally, change is happening at a pace that is surprising even the experts who track it closely.
Wind and solar power are breaking records, and renewables are now expected to overtake coal by 2025 as the world’s largest source of electricity. Automakers have made electric vehicles central to their business strategies and are openly talking about an expiration date on the internal combustion engine. Heating, cooling, cooking and some manufacturing are going electric.www.nytimes.com/interactive/2023/08/12/climate/clean-energy-us-fossil-fuels.htmlOh, also - no, offshore wind turbines aren't killing whales, for goodness' sakes. www.factcheck.org/2023/03/no-evidence-offshore-wind-development-killing-whales/
