To the energy Luddites in our midst - Renewables are happening, they're happening fast, there's nothing you can do about it, and you better believe this is a good thing: The Clean Energy Future Is Arriving Faster Than You Think The United States is pivoting away from fossil fuels and toward wind, solar and other renewable energy, even in areas dominated by the oil and gas industries.Delivery vans in Pittsburgh. Buses in Milwaukee. Cranes loading freight at the Port of Los Angeles. Every municipal building in Houston. All are powered by electricity derived from the sun, wind or other sources of clean energy.
Across the country, a profound shift is taking place that is nearly invisible to most Americans. The nation that burned coal, oil and gas for more than a century to become the richest economy on the planet, as well as historically the most polluting, is rapidly shifting away from fossil fuels.
A similar energy transition is already well underway in Europe and elsewhere. But the United States is catching up, and globally, change is happening at a pace that is surprising even the experts who track it closely.
Wind and solar power are breaking records, and renewables are now expected to overtake coal by 2025 as the world’s largest source of electricity. Automakers have made electric vehicles central to their business strategies and are openly talking about an expiration date on the internal combustion engine. Heating, cooling, cooking and some manufacturing are going electric.www.nytimes.com/interactive/2023/08/12/climate/clean-energy-us-fossil-fuels.htmlOh, also - no, offshore wind turbines aren't killing whales, for goodness' sakes. www.factcheck.org/2023/03/no-evidence-offshore-wind-development-killing-whales/Wrong again as usual, every time they put one of those giant towers and they have to use sonar for the bottom of the ocean. www.science.org/content/article/navy-admits-sonar-killed-whalesDid you read your link? That article is over 20 years old, has nothing to do with wind turbines, and the Navy stopped using that technology 15 years ago. Not to mention the turbine companies aren't using military-grade sonar tech meant to detect other subs, and they're using a frequency beyond the hearing of cetaceans. What did you think of the main article? I love the smell of progress!

Are you going to say there too new, to yesterday? You guys will figure it out but it will be too late

But nobody is really trying to push the "wind farms are killing whales" angle anymore - too much research shows no connection.

I wasn't referring to you dumbass, I was speaking in generalities. Since I own a large sum of land, I would know that better than anyone. They’re not going to drill in your buffet apartment.

I don't think he's going to be a "clear favorite" at all against Trump. Biden is really vulnerable, his support has crashed among key constituencies, and the EC creates a real opening for Trump. Biden beats Trump. There is no place Trump can pick up voters. People are nothing going back to the chaos Trump created as president, especially when they are reminded of that everyday. I think its more likely he isn't the nominee or is in prison than it is he loses to Biden.

Hol calls Ms Carroll “honey” and “money whore“ now drops the B word and earlier called someone on this board “misogynist”. Bet he doesn’t comprehend his hypocrisy... and of course laptop and Democrats will be the reply.

Latest in Ms. Carroll’s defamation suit; the judge denied Orange’s request to delay the court date. Fat, orange and stupid is no way to go through life son.

What's a buffet apartment?
I know the furniture in a dining room and I know it as a restaurant.
