Wisconsin has been relatively pedestrian in the non-conference for a few years, so who knows, but looking at the Baylor scrimmage, if it's Stowers v. the Wisconsin block, I'm going to place my money on the Wisconsin block. Stowers was phenomenal against a VERY big Texas A&M block, going for 6 kills/set, hitting .300. But I do agree that they can’t just rely on her against Wisconsin- she’s not quite Yossiana Pressley (but who is?). Something to note though, is that it looked like Baylor had an off passing night. I truly expect Briseño, Dacosta, and Keene to be one of the best passing trios in the nation this year so I’m hoping they were able to shake any of the preseason jitters they may have been experiencing. Hopefully with better passing will come more production out of Bibinbe, who really didn’t have a bad night against A&M. Actually if you look at just the projected starting hitters for Baylor, they hit .256, with Sczech being the only one to hit under .270 (she’s an absolute wildcard this season). I’m hoping that if Baylor relies on Stowers against Wisconsin, it’s because they can rather than because they have to. THIS ought to be a pretty good, tight match. Start of the season, on a neutral court. I'll say WISC, 3-2.

I mean very few Libs have *that* ability to pass in a way that's so natural and fluid. And besides a passing note every now and then, no one really talks about it. I love watching her play. Rant over.

Dacosta is such an athletic defender and will be the backup libero if ever needed. Both of the Baylor DS’s were recruited as outside hitters and were given a few chances to swing from the backrow last year. I’m hoping that’s an area they both develop more in this season. Dacosta on the pipe and Keene (who is 6’2) with the D-ball would definitely open up Baylor’s offense more.

OK. I'm thinking the badgers start with TTA at OH1, and Franklin at OH2. They have to try it. GG is libero. They start with Izzy setting. (I would prefer TTA from the RS and Robinson to the middle, but we have no indication that will work and plenty that it won't).
They try the TTA, Franklin, GG combo passing. If TTA has significant difficulty receiving serve, they first squeeze TTA in SR (same for Franklin). If that doesn't stabilize things (and I doubt it will), they bring in a DS for TTA (Boyer, Reed or Damrow).
If subs mean they have to abandon the 6-2, they bring in Orzol on the left for the third rotation to replace TTA, and Wrobel on the right with Izzy setting and blocking. That's why I don't think they bring Orzol in to be a DS earlier.
Until they figure out what configuration is best, I think that's the most judicious way to use the badger roster in a 6-2. I'm not sure if it works, but at a minimum it allows you to see lots of stuff.
What will Baylor do?
(EDIT: I have no idea why I wrote Marquette instead of Baylor previously.)

That guy had a way of melding emotion and science in a seemless way few have been able to replicate. I've heard that he really had to twist NASA's arm to get that shot. They couldn't entirely understand it's symbolic importance.
