Thought I'd post this thread before Luther latches onto it....  Major controversy swirls around photos of Biden walking on the beach. Is this a national security threat? Where's Hunter in all this? How much is this costing taxpayers? Biden should not be walking on the beach. I'm outraged. |

Sneakers on the beach? Grounds for impeachment. Unless it's really hot. It is a good surface for Joe if he falls and it would be more likely wearing shoes. Might be a little harder to get up, but the SS is always there to right the ship. |

It depends on the type of beach. Beaches north of Southern California are crap. Rocks, kelp, clam shells, crab parts, bird crap, driftwood, sea creature carcasses, etc. all hazards for cutting the flesh on your feet. Sometimes the surface seems smooth but as soon your bare feet dig into the sand, you'll feel something hard or sharp underneath. Yikes! It's been a while since any of our family members walked barefeet on the sands of Northern California beaches. I don't care how beautiful the travel photos are of the beaches in this area, in reality they suck.
Southern California is mixed but I usually wear shoes. I think it's because we never go to the beach to frolic in the waters. Just to take a walk with our dog(s). One of our dogs used to love to body surf with the waves. Another dog hated the water. (They both passed away a few years ago.) Our current German Shepherd dog doesn't like water. He'll just walk alongside us -- away from the damp sand.
Hawaii is different. You can go barefeet all day on such pristine sand. On really hot days, you can't walk barefeet. You'll be running toward the grass in no time flat!

I never thought about a sitting president visiting a public beach. Must be a security nightmare. But Joe could blend in rather obscurely as just another old guy on the beach. I wonder what the secret service agents did to "blend in".

I remember seeing a video from when Bush threw out a first pitch in NY after 9/11 and a secret service agent dressed as an umpire so he could take the field with the president rather obscurely. |

Old Joe is taking more vacations than any president in history but that’s not important. I’m pretty plugged into conservative media and I haven’t heard a word about Joe Biden on the beach. Democrats love the drama and Hollywood. Trump loafed his way through four years at the White House - guy didn’t show up in the West Wing until 11am most days, and then played nearly 300 rounds of golf during his tenure - while bilking taxpayers by wildly overcharging government personnel to stay at his properties. Sweet! Most of Biden’s “vacations” are weekends either at his house or Camp David, short trips from the WH. I don’t think there’s much comparison as to who actually puts more hours on the job. |

He was only on Maui for 6 hours, but managed to get in some beach time there. Sure beats Lake Tahoe beaches.  Also - Maui doesn't have an airport with a runway long enough for a 747, so he flew in on the USAF VIP fleet's equivalent of a 757. |
