I will be in attendance for these matches this week. My first time in Hawaii! Looking forward to taking in a match in the Stan Sherriff Center and seeing what all the hype is about.

I went to Hawaii one time in November and it wasn't a home game weekend. I was so upset. I wanted to go to the USC-Hawaii match in 2011. What a game it was. A final four match played as a Regional Semifinal. I really hope USC can split. I saw some good things from Hawaii in week 1. As far as USC, well, there's always Skylar Fields, but besides that, I wasn't impressed.

We welcome you here and have fun. The hype is that there are a lot of fans at the game and everyone is having fun. It’s unfortunate that the LA schools do not draw as well as they should. A packed Pauly or Galen would be a big home court advantage. Anyway, enjoy yourself and eat plenty of food. The Hawaii program needs your money 💰.

After watching the Trojans live this past weekend I have zero confidence they’ll beat Hawaii. Skylar will be Skylar but she needs others contributing and they’re not. I think she also served well and has really improved her defense but she needs help. If others step up maybe they can split, but it’s doubtful any change will happen in days

USC will always have the talent and arms but how will they use it? I haven’t followed them much during the preseason but I was shocked to see Williams on the outside. Even just a little bit more help for Skylar would help this team. What’s going on with Adonia?

Expecting the worst, hoping for the best. USC might get a split

I’m wondering if this might be a good time for Hawaii to roll with the 6-2 from the start. Seeing how Colyer hit over Lang again and again… I’m anticipating a similar problem if Lang gets matched up with Fields.

Field's has insane vertical and can pretty much tower over anyone TBH.

Hawaii’s offense has been kind of bad except for Amber and Caylen. Putting 3 attackers in the front row at all time could solve that problem but we might have to give up some ball control if we do go 6-2. We also haven’t seen much of the back row attack other than desperation sets. I would like Hawaii to implement that as part of their repertories rather than just set the back row if both MB and pin hitters are not in position to hit due to them scrambling and being out of position. It would force the blockers to always keep their eyes on the back row as potential option.

Expecting the worst, hoping for the best. USC might get a split I expect 2 Ls for SC based on what I saw last week (having watched both teams a bit).

Hawai'i will find a way to screw it up so 1-1 is my prediction for the week.

Lang isn’t the problem, and a 6-2 isn’t the solution. Hawai’i needs to focus on the fundamentals, get some consistency from their attackers (and passers), and step up the scrappy defense.
