Both teams have some strengths, and both teams currently have some iffy spots. I see a potential split. Match 1 to Igiede and co. Match 2 to Fields and co.

I will be in attendance for these matches this week. My first time in Hawaii! Looking forward to taking in a match in the Stan Sherriff Center and seeing what all the hype is about. One thing to notice is that no matter what team you’re there for, if there’s a good play… everyone celebrates! Have fun!! 🤙🏽 |

For the Wahine to win, Riley Wagoner has to be aggressive as a hitter. If she just patty cakes the ball over, she will be giving Fields more chances to put the ball away. That will not be good for the Wahine.

That makes the most sense to me, although I'd actually have Hakas at Opp and Guersching OH2. Neither of the left sides having good floor defense is risky but the 4 passing rotation has paid off a lot in the first 3 games. Unless Guersching shows up with a very different floor defense now that she's past first game jitters, but I don't see an AA having first game jitters in the first place. That said against USC, 99% theyre running the 5-1 and it's the exact same 8 we were looking at for most of the tournament. Maybe we see Guersching for Hakas. I don't expect to see many other changes. Ikenaga-Edmonds interchangeable and whatnot. |

Lang isn’t the problem, and a 6-2 isn’t the solution. Hawai’i needs to focus on the fundamentals, get some consistency from their attackers (and passers), and step up the scrappy defense. I totally agree: This team looks very good when they are passing well and very lost when they aren't. |

I'm starting to think you only watch the third contact- I'm not sure why you'd want Wagoner out of the starting rotation otherwise, especially considering how much better the team does with her on the floor. Go back and watch her backrow play and hitter coverage- I would venture that Wagoner has more touches during a match than any other hitter, and most of them better the ball. She is maybe the 3rd or 4th best pin attacker, and the tipping is probably a little excessive, but the other things she does during a match to keep the ball in play and better the ball make me think she has solidified her spot and will probably only be subbed out in situational cases. |

I recall one of the main reasons she chose USC was because it allowed her to be close with her family and if I’m remembering correctly one of her parents had a health issue. Sorry if I’m wrong on this. |

As a usc fan…we’re losing both matches. As others have said, they would be very luck if they pull off a split somehow. Watching both teams last week hawaii is the better team by far.
As for Adoinia, she wasn’t dressed up for the lmu scrimmage so I assumed some type of injury. I would love to see her in the line up somehow and see how she can help this team rn.

I could see her fitting in perfectly for that second outside spot, maybe oppo if they move K Smith to outside. That second outside spot is a struggle right now for the Trojans. |
