Miner's location is not good. I agree. Miner is so athletic and I’m especially impressed with her offense and how quick she gets to the ball. But I’ve never been overly impressed with set location. All of this with the giant caveat that I’m not seeing it in person, and who knows how helpful these camera angles are in capturing the actual location 🤷🏻♀️. Point being, I don’t really understand the hype around Miner in particular as compared to others. I’m not very invested in this team though so maybe someone has some insight there that I wouldn’t know as a casual observer. |

I wonder how much the humidity is playing a role. They're spending a lot of time wiping the floor between points, and everyone looks a little overheated. The setter/hitter connections for most of the Stanford players are off. Lots of things mistimed, a lot of tentative swings, almost like no one trusts their feet to not slip. Kipp alone has had, what, 2-3 back row attack violations? If they can gut out a win, esp in 3 sets, maybe the takeaway is this: they didn't play their best against a decent-ish team, and they still found ways to win.
