Now I kinda want a Texas middle and outside to do that after blocking Nebraska. Just to see the conniption fit. The funny thing is, I’m pretty sure this was a ‘no touch’ motion after a Stanford hitting error. it was. Rubin tried to swipe it but it missed Allick and Beason.

Correct, the Stanford pin tried to tool a trap set off the block by sending it straight sideways and missed hands. Bekka directed her no touch across the net. Sassy?, sure. Disrespectful? Nah, people need to stop clutching their pearls. Eventually someone is gonna do the same to her and she'll just have to take it. Choboy and Bekka are gonna rub people the wrong way. Same way Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese do. I personally like players in all sports and genders showing their passion and personality. Not for everyone I guess.

Those were some talented kids on the court. Let em have fun... Stanford is lethal. They play a clean match and WATCH OUT.

No way, Bekka did "strike a pose," instant rejection for that. Now I kinda want a Texas middle and outside to do that after blocking Nebraska. Just to see the conniption fit. BINGO! Taylor Sandbothe was someone who aggravate me to no end. She was quite animated in her celebrations and unfortunately, she got to celebrate a lot when tOS played Nebraska. If Bekka wasn't on a team I'm a fan of, I wouldn't be much of a fan of her celebrations either. That said, had we had more success against Ohio State when Sandbothe was there, I probably wouldn't have noticed her as much. I'll add one more thing. Bekka is getting noticed and with the NIL deals some of these young athletes are getting being quite lucrative, that isn't a bad thing. Marketing firms like those who are getting noticed. Remember the backlash Angel Reese got after the women's championship basketball victory for getting into Caitlin Clark's face? She now has a seven figure NIL deal. Don't think other college athletes aren't paying attention. Now about the game. My thoughts going in is that unless they looked horrible in the process, a loss wasn't going to impact any of the team goals for NE. Coversley, were NE to win, it would pay huge dividends. I probably came up with that theory to help my psyche in the case of a loss. In any event, the Huskers not only won, but they looked very solid in the process. Definitely room to get better, but the future looks bright for these youngsters. One last thing. I LOVE LOVE LOVE our setter! It's been six years since we've seen anything close to what she's doing for the hitters. I don't believe I've said, "what the hell was that?" after one of her sets so far.

some argued that Stanford was the best team despite their sweep by Florida because Baird didn’t play. Madden correctly pointed out that Baird could not have played that much better than her replacement who hit over .300. The silly point is to argue that Baird would necessarily elevate the level of the team to an extent that would change the outcome of the Florida game. She did score 17 as you accurately pointed out, but it didn’t elevate the level of play of the team, not to mention Baird herself is fully capable of bad games. The bottom line is that Stanford was not the best team in ncaa this year before or after the Florida game with or without Baird. As many people have pointed out, the total effect of a player is not defined by one statistical category. If you disagree somehow, let me know and I can elaborate. You cannot judge 'level of play' based on winning/losing against two different opponents. You're right, sometimes she has bad games. Last year against Texas she hit .061 with 3kps. Against UCLA she hit .485 with 6 kps. Who's to say the Baird vs Florida wouldn't have been the .485 version? The bottom line is that Stanford is not the best team in NCAA right now, but the match against Florida is not the deciding factor in that determination. agree with everything except Florida represented a threshold Stanford failed to rise above. Baird might have made a difference, but she might not have as her 17 kills while her team losing clearly demonstrated; again, not to mention she had not-so-stellar games from time to time.
