Sheffield's presser hinted that this match's attendance may (will?) break the Kohl center attendance. Edit-posted it while listening - he elaborated later in the presser that he expects a sellout, a couple hundred away from it. A muted record given what happened in NE, but still pretty cool.

I guess you're right that it's not going to compare to the world attendance record for women's sports that Nebraska just held. That received international attention and could be a watershed moment for volleyball in many ways. But I think it's important to emphasize the importance of this event, too. This is still huge for women's volleyball in this country. We need more locales/regions to host these kinds of events. If it only happens in Nebraska, or it only happens in Wisconsin, it's going to limit the amount of marketing conferences and networks invest. But right now these are the only two places really capable of it. I look forward to that changing, and I'm convinced it will, but until then, this is truly significant. I'm grateful to the Nebraska fans and all the years of effort from a number of people to help make that environment possible. But I'm just as grateful to the great volleyball fans in Wisconsin, who are doing way more than their fair share to keep growing the sport, increasing its visibility and popularity. And I'm especially grateful to the Big 10 and the people involved in its media that keep pushing volleyball into the forefront in innovative ways that help to compel other people around the country to do similarly.

… Is Franklin 6'3" or 6'4"? Not sure, what time is it? :-) And VB rosters add 1-3” on top of all that. Maybe they measure them in the morning, and while they wear heels of their choice.

I don't get the joke. According the official site, Franklin is 6'4". It is a template for Rainbow to use for the rest of the season.

The joke is that I originally had her listed at 6-3, but fixed it after people mentioned it here. I copy-pasted previous threads to make this one and either I saw her listed at 6-3 back when I made the first ever thread like this, or I just remembered her height wrong when I made it (a more likely scenario).

After discovering the mistake, I checked the last two threads and found that she was listed as 6-3. It appears that this is a template that you are using, so a minor change should suffice for the rest of the season. However, I feel like people are mocking me for making a big deal out of it. Anyway, that's all.

Anyway, that's all. I took it as mocking the often-inflated roster heights of players, not you. I’m always grateful when people politely point out errors in my threads so I can correct them - which you did. Frank will be 6-4 going forward.

I find rather amazing that a person's height can actually vary as much as an inch, maybe more, depending on the time of day. The front row players all need to take a good nap before match time. :-)

Within the past year or so, Madison Memorial High School in Madison was renamed Vel Phillips High. I graduated from there many moons ago. I was going to post this if you hadn’t. It’s technically Vel Phillips Memorial High School though, so there’s no confusion amongst former students who might still refer to it as simply “Memorial.” EDIT: I didn’t scroll down to see your second post for the clarification. Oops.
