The Badger football team has, yet again, precipitated a TV shut-off. I'm counting on The Badger VB Team to show the inept girly men how to win. GO BADGERS. If you think that is bad, you should try being a Nebraska football fan like me. I have had to cringe every time I turn the TV on during Fall Saturdays for the last 8 years. And so far, this year is shaping up to be just as bad. Thank goodness for women's volleyball. |

The football game day experience in Lincoln is so iconic and fun for Nebraskans…..I believe the Volleyball event was so successful because it let the state have all the pageantry and enjoyment of game day without the embarrassment of another football game! |

Is that still allowed to be said? First, I have to give props to The Badger Football Team. Apparently, they got fired up after I turned off the TV. Good for them and the football fans.
In re the "girly men" question, I think it's OK in this context because: 1. It's obviously not true and any player on the team would tell you that after he beat me up; 2. There is no damage to any player's reputation, i.e. no cause of action on a Defamation theory; 3. No deprivation of constitutional rights, or freedom of gender expression, or Equal Protection under the law more generally; 4. Hans and Franz said it's OK.
I hope I don't have to go there again next week.
My love for the Badger Volleyball Team remains undiminished. GO BADGERS. |

Try not having the option of turning off the TV as a FB season ticket holder. The constant (and long) TV timeouts are excruciating. The whole experience at Camp Randall is night and day compared to the Field House. |

I really have no idea what will happen in this match. But one thing I will be watching is the badger serve. Badgers are erroring at about double the clip they are getting aces, which is way off the ratio of previous years. It’s one of the things that has led the team to be a bit less aggressive at times from the service line. That stat seems to get worse the first time they experience a new court environment. I don’t think they can win this match if we have a 15 errors.

I'm definitely pumped up for this match.
I hope Sheff lets The Badgers take their best shot. I'm not sure exactly what that means, but I think it includes no serving from TTA and some floor time for Damrow.
