yeah, but think about the context. All three of the interviewees hit the AVP pretty hard last summer/fall. I overlooked the AVP common thread. Getting to know them throughout their Juniors/HS years, then at UCLA Beach they've always been "running in the same group" playing (Lexy (at times with Abby VW) & Rileigh; Devon (with Lindsay Sparks now at Cal Poly) and Jaden. All those ladies are foundational components to the Bruins success. Watched Lexy play with Maria Salgado, but I really feel she clicked with Carly Kan. Haven't had the chance to watch Devon & Jaden play in AVPs but with the way they compete they have the potential consistently get into main draws. Air Jaden & Devon vs Zana & D Kraft was wild

I have her ahead of savvy and zana and molly among the young women. Not sure why she isn't talked about more. if you saw her AVP victory in... maybe it was Austin? last year, she was the better player in that duo that weekend.

Had issues passing in the wind, saw her lose bad in AVP HB '22, couldn't scratch double digits (21-7 I think) in her loss to Savvage and Jess G.

I was going to post about this. They are only 2 episodes in and I cannot believe how polished this podcast sounds and the studio they updated in 1 episode look amazing. They are still probably tinkering with format and direction of the show, but a great start.

It has also become more difficult because when you offer say 50% to a senior in high school, you are now committing to 50% for all four years if you are in the power conferences (whereas before 2019 they were re-upped annually) unless that athlete transfers or gets a medical leave. It is very possible that you have a few players getting 20-30% scholarship that wind up not fulfilling their potential and do not start so that money cannot be used for another athlete even if they are cut and wont take a medical leave.
That is why the transfer portal is going to be so useful for the bigger programs and why unless you are a stud in high school you are not going to possibly get what you are entitled to initially. In some cases there are a lot of girls not starting that are getting more scholarship than a few that are starting.
