Your Huskies lost to Washington State too. And UTEP and Pepperdine and Arizona State. Not sure what the Huskies have to do with it, but if you are suggesting that they are equivalent to Texas and BYU this season, then I'll take that as a compliment. Because you decided to come into this thread and not add anything except that they both lost to Washington State. And no, I don't think they're equivalent. Because they haven't lost to teams like UTEP and Pepperdine the way Washington did. Granted, Texas did lose to Long Beach State.

Who do we think starts? molly or devin? Molly. So far she's the better blocker and her offense has been improving. My guess is that JE will try to match her up against Livingston

in 2016 that was a nail-biter (25-23, 25-14, 24-26, 22-25 & 16-14)...texas was up 2 sets, well you know we've been there before & byu battled back the next 2 sets...so i was watching the match on the longhorn network & the score was 11-14 something happened with my satellite reception i originally thought texas lost the match...i didn't get to see the ending (on replay) until sometime later on...i remember byu was leading 11-5 in the 5th set but the horns stormed back to win...loved it I'm surprised this video has been up as long as it has:
💔💔💔💔💔 RJP playing OPP. Did America know how good Mary Lake was before this match? If I remember correctly, she had a GREAT match.

Why does the LHN get to televise the Friday game, but BYU-TV can’t televise their home games?

I would too but Texas is hosting and I can't remember the last time they lost 2x to the same team back to back.

Why does the LHN get to televise the Friday game, but BYU-TV can’t televise their home games? Because the conference programs agreed to split their revenue from tier 3 content. The agreement is with ESPN, which shows the tier 3 content on ESPN plus. Neither Texas nor OU are a part of that deal, and neither is KU basketball (that might change with the new media deal). Texas sells their tier 3 content to ESPN to be shown on the Longhorn Network. That goes away when they enter the SEC. Same thing with OU. They sold their tier 3 content to Fox, then signed a big contract with ESPN, so it’s also shown on ESPN+, but under the brand name SoonerVision. That also goes away when they join the SEC. I believe KU still gets extra money for selling the rights to their basketball program to ESPN so that every game not picked up by other broadcast partners are televised on ESPN+. I’m not sure what will happen to that deal next year. Because neither Fox nor ESPN picked up the 2nd BYU-Texas match for their linear channels, it automatically goes to the Longhorn Network. I don’t know what the deal was for BYU when they joined the Big 12, but they didn’t have a lot of leverage. If the BYU officials had insisted on keeping their tier 3 content in house, but the Big 12 told them they couldn’t join if that was the case, BYU wouldn’t have had a lot of good alternative options. I will say BYU’s in house production values have always been surprisingly good to me. It’s too bad they weren’t able to keep it.

Who do we think starts? molly or devin? I would prefer Kahahawai. I feel like she represents the best upside. But I do feel like Phillips starts. At the very least I wish Elliott would alternate them with each set.

At the very least I wish Elliott would alternate them with each set. If there is any 2 games where each should get their own start it’s these 2 games. I’m also very curious about what changes JE is going to make if his starting lineup isn’t working. He sorts of just sits there and allows them to get kicked around once they are losing. It’s very annoying😭 Switching our oppo that gets 2 swings per set isnt making adjustments.. like show some fight, some creativeness in the lineup or sum?😭

Not that I would change anything about the expected starting lineups, but BYU has been subbing in a DS for Livingston more in the last few matches. BYU subbed in Miller in the backrow for almost all of the Houston match and most of the Utah St. match. Livingston did play six rotation against Baylor the whole time. Yes, I was wondering how Heather and staff will put their lineup card through with Erin. It will be an interesting trade off. I don't think they were as worried about beating Houston as they were about Baylor. My guess is that Miller might get targeted just as much as Erin will on S/R but BYU gives up a lot of offense if Erin isn't out there in 6 rotations. Will be very interesting and it might be advantage BYU to keep Texas guessing.

We'll clearly have a reshuffling of the deck in pre-conference matches next year with the considerable number of teams shifting conferences next season. Maybe that's a chance for Texas to set up a home and home in alternating years with BYU. Who knows? I really like having Stanford and Minnesota on the schedule, so as long as those two don't drop off I'm open to any number of schools being added. Texas might need to venture out on the road in the coming years and play tough teams out of the comfort of Gregory. Stanford is loaded for the next 4 years. Minnesota isn't that loaded and I have some big question marks on Keegan's recruiting and talent evaluation. He seems to recruit a lot of big strong girls who can hit the cover off the ball but are challenged in routine athletic ability. The UW program was left in embarrassingly bad shape and his last year was terrible as well.
