I'm surprised this video has been up as long as it has:
💔💔💔💔💔 RJP playing OPP. Did America know how good Mary Lake was before this match? If I remember correctly, she had a GREAT match. If RJP had been playing OH instead of Opp the match would have gone to BYU. This is the type of player personnel decision that drives me crazy and it still goes on at BYU will surprising regularity in the women's vb program.

texas vs byu series...someone else might know of more match-ups before '08...i remember the '19, '18 & '16 match-ups the most...this should be a great battle this week (x2) -2019 texas won 3-1 in wichita (tournament in wichita) -2018 byu won 3-1 in provo (elite eight) -2016 texas won 3-2 in austin (sweet sixteen) -2014 byu won 3-1 in okc (final four) -2008 texas won 3-0 in austin (mid-season game) *any memories of these match-ups I remember the 2014 matchup. Texas mostly just ran into arguably the best blocking team in NCAA history (3.85 blocks/set on the season, which is the 25-point era record by quite a bit). They had 17 blocks that night. That plus Jennifer Hamson (22 kills on .241) and Alexa Gray (19 kills on .421). On the other side of the net, Chiaka Ogbogu was dominant, recording 14 kills while hitting .500. But BYU was able to keep everyone else in check for the most part. Hamson was the difference maker on that 2014 team.

the one person on BYU we know won’t be phased by Gregory is Hiapo lol Hiapo had better not disappear in Austin or the matches won't be close at all. Texas would sweep. BYU could lose any player on this team and still compete except, Hiapo! Livingston would hurt the 2nd most.

Your Huskies lost to Washington State too. And UTEP and Pepperdine and Arizona State. Not sure what the Huskies have to do with it, but if you are suggesting that they are equivalent to Texas and BYU this season, then I'll take that as a compliment. bbg is a little defensive, don't take it personal!

Why does the LHN get to televise the Friday game, but BYU-TV can’t televise their home games? ESPN pays big money to one of those networks and not to the other ..... that is why!

Who knows? I really like having Stanford and Minnesota on the schedule, so as long as those two don't drop off I'm open to any number of schools being added. Texas might need to venture out on the road in the coming years and play tough teams out of the comfort of Gregory. Stanford is loaded for the next 4 years. Minnesota isn't that loaded and I have some big question marks on Keegan's recruiting and talent evaluation. He seems to recruit a lot of big strong girls who can hit the cover off the ball but are challenged in routine athletic ability. The UW program was left in embarrassingly bad shape and his last year was terrible as well.  I’d prefer Texas maximize their home games. But they went out to California and played Long Beach, and both Stanford and Minnesota are home and homes. They played Ohio State last year on the road twice, and then hosted them this year. The schedule seems fine to me. I like how the SEC is shaping up. I have more confidence in Cook long term than you do. Plus I really like their fan base and I like the school. I like being associated with that program on an ongoing basis. But I don’t know how much the home and home Series was about McCutcheon and Elliott having a mutual admiration society, so I don’t know if the series is in jeopardy with him retiring or not.

Why does the LHN get to televise the Friday game, but BYU-TV can’t televise their home games? Because the conference programs agreed to split their revenue from tier 3 content. The agreement is with ESPN, which shows the tier 3 content on ESPN plus. Neither Texas nor OU are a part of that deal, and neither is KU basketball (that might change with the new media deal). Texas sells their tier 3 content to ESPN to be shown on the Longhorn Network. That goes away when they enter the SEC. Same thing with OU. They sold their tier 3 content to Fox, then signed a big contract with ESPN, so it’s also shown on ESPN+, but under the brand name SoonerVision. That also goes away when they join the SEC. I believe KU still gets extra money for selling the rights to their basketball program to ESPN so that every game not picked up by other broadcast partners are televised on ESPN+. I’m not sure what will happen to that deal next year. Because neither Fox nor ESPN picked up the 2nd BYU-Texas match for their linear channels, it automatically goes to the Longhorn Network. I don’t know what the deal was for BYU when they joined the Big 12, but they didn’t have a lot of leverage. If the BYU officials had insisted on keeping their tier 3 content in house, but the Big 12 told them they couldn’t join if that was the case, BYU wouldn’t have had a lot of good alternative options. I will say BYU’s in house production values have always been surprisingly good to me. It’s too bad they weren’t able to keep it. That’s the funny thing-they use BYU announcers, cameras, even local commercials- (Except for the one match when Kevin Barnett was there). Who is paying those BYU TV people? ESPN or BYU? Same with women’s soccer.

It was electric. BYU was behind in all 3 games. RJP was amazing in that match. Madi Robinson replaced injured McKenna Miller and she played great. Then, a week later, we stunk up the place. It was an embarrassing Final Four appearance.
