Apologies that the OP is under construction! Just got back from Huff Hall and am about to hit the hay but I'll resume chugging away at lineup predictions whenever I rise tomorrow. Might be morning, might be later than morning but we'll get it all polished up, I promise you.
I'd love some help on the Hawkeye lineup prediction! If I don't hear from you fine folks, I'll do some research and make my own educated guess. Have a nice night and we'll see you for some Big Ten volley manana. (apologies that I don't know how to insert the tilde : (

The lineup the last several matches has been: S - Kaia Mateo S - Bailey Ortega L - Sydney Dennis OH - Caitlan Buettner OH - Nataly Moravec OH - Michelle Urquhart MH - Delaney McSweeney MH - Anna Davis The three OHs listed have all been playing all 6 rotations...so essentially "RS by committee" and no DS being utilized at all. What's listed above has been what Barnes has gone with the past couple of weeks but after today, I would not be surprised to see changes in the Illinois match. Guess we will see! |

I accidentally posted this on the PSU thread when I meant it for this game.
For the Champaign listeners, first 30-60 minutes of the radio broadcast will be online only (OP’s link above) while football wraps up. Then it will be over terrestrial radio and online.

I would expect Iowa to go with a different lineup for this one. First contact has been a struggle to say the least.

Ooh, if Iowa were at home I’d maybe give them the edge, but Huff is a really difficult environment to play in. I’m thinking Illlini in 4.

Okay, finally got around to updating the OP with our likely lineups. Apologies on the delay.
It was hot in Huff last night and I bet it'll be even hotter today with the early start. Gotta hydrate, y'all! If I weren't an Illinois fan, the hot Huff climate today would be the perfect time to bust out my killer 70's era Iowa tank. What a gun show that would've been...

We have beaten Illinois once in the last 17 years. That 2016 match had one of the most impressive set distributions by the sorely missed Loxley Keala:
M. Buzz (OH) - 33 attempts

Brobst (OH) - 28 attempts
Coyle (OPP) - 27 attempts
Keala dished out 65 assists in a 5 set thriller to Jordyn Poulter’s 60.
