HistoryWisconsin leads 60-21-1. In Madison: Wisconsin leads 31-9-1. In Iowa City: Wisconsin leads 27-12. Neutral: Wisconsin leads 2-0. The Streak: Wisconsin has won five straight. Last meeting: 10/14/2022 - Wisconsin swept the Hawkeyes in Iowa. Did you know…? Iowa used to be part of Wisconsin - the Wisconsin Territory, that is. In 1836, the Wisconsin Territory was established, made up of the area currently consisting of Iowa, Wisconsin, Minneosta, and the part of the Dakotas east of the Missouri River. Two years later, in 1838, the portion west of the Mississippi was split off into Iowa Territory. Despite the Wisconsin Territory's pre-existence, Iowa was the first to achieve statehood, being admitted to the union on December 28, 1846. Wisconsin followed suit 18 months later, on May 29, 1848. Each new state formed its flagship land grant university shortly after statehood: the University of Iowa on February 25, 1847, and the University of Wisconsin on July 26, 1848.

Don't see anything but a sweep & there could be some single digit sets for the Hawks. Maybe Wisconsin passes poorly & Iowa can get to the middle teens?

This will be a fun blowout. Boyer will get her personal record for aces and Caitlin Clark will take pics flashing the W and or peace sign with several Badger players after the match.

I’d like to move on to Purdue now please.
Or, actually back to Purdue from yesterday… specifically (and only) sets 3-5.

Just watch the Badgers drop a set. Volleyball is a weird and unpredictable sport.

Ask Minnesota. Any given day.

I would think Iowa is closer to OSU and Indiana in strength than they are to Michigan. Still doesn't mean I expect us to drop a set but things happen.

How the States got their shapes is a fun book explaining how some of the weird shapes came to be. Thanks Rainbow!

I had Minn rolling Iowa and it was a surprise 5 setter. I have Wisconsin rolling Iowa. But the Hawkeyes are feisty at home.

When Iowa beat the 2018 Badgers, it was because Sheffield wanted to emphasize getting his OH’s on track (which was an issue early that year) Syd set past Rettke a bunch & suddenly it’s set 5 and Taylor Louis is having the game of her life😊
If they just play their game it’s 1-2-3 and back in Madison by 10pm.

Since this is on the road I'm gonna go with the Badgers in 4.
Iowa Total Points 79
Devyn is in her home state I look for Izzy to feed her often. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say 18+ kills for Dev.

That’s right. Also, isn’t there a former Iowa player now on the Wisc roster? Sellout for the arena is 5000. I wonder if it will be full. Would be great for TV

Would be great for TV Joslyn Boyer who started at libero for Iowa but has been a serving specialist this year and outside of exhibitions hasn't played a whole lot of reps in the backcourt. I think with the new coaching staff at Iowa and their exciting match with Minny I would bet that this comes close to a sellout. At least I hope it does.
