I’m taking Wisco in this one despite being in Husker territory. Way more experience and of course the massive block of the Badgers. Nebraska has some very talented freshman but they’re still freshman and they may have peaked too early, it’s a loooong season for your first go around in the B1G gauntlet.
Still undecided on if this thread or the match will be more entertaining though 🤔

Cook may be an ass, but he would out coach Sheffield any day of the week [/quote]
He didn’t out coach him in the national championship game. He’s openly admitted spinning the dial in the 5th was a mistake.
Both great coaches at this time. Certainly in Sheffields early years at Wisconsin Cook had the edge. The last few years I’d call it a draw at best and may lean towards Sheffield.

It will be a loud Nebraska crowd for sure, but I don't think it will affect The Badgers the way it may have affected Penn State last week. Possible exception may be TTA.
Not so sure about GG myself.
I’m not worried about GG. She’s a gamer. Yea she cost us a bit in the ncaa last year but she was a freshman from a different country at the end of a long season and probably pretty fatigued mentally and physically. I like her moxy. TTA is the wild card here. At times she is lights out and others leaves me frustrated. I think she’s been good lately tho and trending in right direction. Wouldn’t mind seeing a tool shot from her once in awhile like Franklin does tho. She’s seems full blast all the time.

I'm going to reserve judgement as we haven't played the top teams yet (Nebraska & Penn State) this season in our recent run of dominating play.

If you think Nebraska is a team of Freshman, you haven't been paying attention. Beason and Lexi are the leaders of the team, both 3 year starters. Since Krause has returned from injury, she is playing like the 3 year starter she is. Reilly hasn't played like a freshman at any point this year. I always thought if you don't notice the setter, they are doing their job. You notice the hitters are terminating, not so much that the setter is positioning the hitters to do just that. She goes unnoticed a lot in broadcasts, just keeps putting up good set after good set. Allick is a 2 year starter, just like Booth is. Murray, Jackson and Choboy have been a little up and down as Freshman are, but more up in big matches than down. And they aren't your typical Freshman that back off after a bad swing or two. They are not going to be intimidated by Wisc size or the names on the uniforms. At this point in the year, this is not an inexperienced team and not the Nebraska team Wisc has seen the last 4 years. This team terminates better than most any Nebraska teams of the past, especially of the last 4 years. The experience factor will have little impact in this match.
Wisc is the favorite going in, as they should be. It should be a great match to watch, expect high drama and an intense match. Both teams have the ability to win easily if the other struggles in some area, but I expect it will be tight. I have no idea who will win, it's too close to call. I do hope both teams are at full strength, and it is a 20-20 tie in the 5th about 3 hours after opening serve.

I could not care less who wins, I just wanna know why of all the things they could've fixed, ProBoards went with "the font of the quick reply box needs an adjustment". This thread is gonna crash this forum so hard. Ugh. My bigger problem with the quick reply is that it doesn't recognize my double-space after every period. Drives me nuts. Wow can't imagine the strife of ProBoards not being MLA compliant. NERD.

The coaching debate, I think you really need to look at assistant coaches as it pertains to this match. I don't know the Wisc coaching staff, but really like the Huskers staff. I also think you look at the head coaches coaching tree to determine how successful a head coach is. I don't know Sheffield's coaching tree, but I know Cook's is pretty solid.

Not sure why Husker fans arent taking the opportunity to feel like an underdog for once.

Not sure why Husker fans arent taking the opportunity to feel like an underdog for once. not a husker fan but maybe because they're not an underdog lol, both teams are undefeated and the opinion of who's better is basically split down the middle. experience means nothing the Nebraska starters are as talented as anyone

So Cook lost the last 4? matches against Sheffield and coaching any day of the week except the last 4? meetings. And I still don't like either one of them.

Dana Rettke lost to Nebraska once in 2017. Dana Rettke was not part of the last two wins against Nebraska. And she was recruited by, you know, the head coach. Part of the job.

I'm sorry, but I just have to laugh sometimes. At the end of the match, some PLAYERS will have seized the moment and some will have wilted in the bright lights. I think Dan Fisher said it best after Pitt beat The Badgers in the Elite Eight last year:
"I don't know if I can give you the Xs and Os; we just found a way to win".
