Should be Batenhorst. She's got a nasty block. I’d put Krause there before Batenhorst. Ally gets fooled frequently, plus Krause has a better vertical that likely makes up the height difference. And that’s not even looking at Krause’s hitting and serving advantages. You likely know better than I, but having watched a few, I've always thought Batenhorst the better blocker. She's got a good hands-over-the-net habit, and tracks the hitter so intently. For sure Krause's other skills are better, but I thought the poster was talking about who's going to try to get in Smrek's face most successfully.

Cook may be an ass, but he would out coach Sheffield any day of the week Cook got outcoached in the championship game so I disagree. Choosing the wrong rotation in set 5 and getting down big time. I think Sheffield doesn't get the credit he deserves.

It will be a loud Nebraska crowd for sure, but I don't think it will affect The Badgers the way it may have affected Penn State last week. Possible exception may be TTA.
Not so sure about GG myself.

I have broken this matchup into the following categories. This is not based on hard data, just my two eyes from watching the teams play. This is how I see the teams matching up against each other with Wisconsin squeeking by in 5 sets. Another instant classic. Defense Nebraska >> Wisconsin Serving Wisconsin > Nebraska Setters/Setting Nebraska >> Wisconsin Terminators Wisconsin >> Nebraska Blocking Wisconsin >> Nebraska Passing Nebraska > Wisconsin Experience/Intangibles Wisconsin >> Nebraska Coaching Wisconsin = Nebraska Location Nebraska > Wisconsin Cook may be an ass, but he would out coach Sheffield any day of the week You must be thinking of a week from 2017. It's not Cook who is chasing a 5th consecutive BIG Title. He's just trying to beat Wisconsin once at this point.

I hope that doesn't happen for a variety of reasons. She seems a little more self-assured these days, but this will be a tough test for sure.

umm no. Not since quite a while.
So any day of the week is a false statement.

Three weeks ago Nebraska was winning this match up but the serving issues can’t happen for them to win Saturday. If Nebraska misses more than 15 serves Wisconsin wins. If they keep it under 8 I think they win. So if it is between 15 and 8, then Texas wins?

Portal additions/recruiting from the college ranks, international players (these are not included in recruiting rankings) and the extra COVID year are skewing what the value of HS recruiting class rankings used to be. Recruiting rankings are still important, but not the only or even main way some schools build a team.

It has been a busy year for the Huskers so far. John brought in a number of great players and the results have been good. These mid-season games will give indications of how we are progressing and we will face some great teams in the upcoming weeks. John's a good coach and a great person.
GBR!

Recruiting rankings are still important, but not the only or even main way some schools build a team. This reasoning would have more legs to stand on, if Sheffield had only started to dominate the matchup recently, but he has been beating Cook over and over since 2017, long before COVID seniors were a thing and long before Wisconsin had any sort of major international recruiting or transfers (at least, not more than Nebraska). So again, to the original OP, if Cook is apparently on a completely different level in coaching compared to Sheff, then why has Sheff beat him 10 straight times?

Really? Cook had a substandard setter and took it to 12-15 in the 5th. . . Saying he was “outcoached” is pure folly.

It's not a Nebraska thread until someone talks %*$# about their recent two-time NCAA finalist setter.
