Is a master's a typical requirement for an assistant coach? I don't actually look at the postings too often Required? No. But it is often listed as preferred or desired like it is in that posting

Is a master's a typical requirement for an assistant coach? I don't actually look at the postings too often It makes sense, doesn’t it? Get your masters degree so you can make 30-40k a year, working 60-70 hours per week.

The funniest ones are the ones listed as part time paying 10k a year and listing a master’s degrees as a preferred requirement

And is the general sentiment around teachers’ pay is that they are being properly compensated? Or has it not been a topic of hot debate nationwide?

Preferring a Masters is just an easy way to eliminate candidates. Unless it is required for teaching purposes, a candidate with the right credentials will get interviewed regardless of Masters status. In most if not all cases, having a Masters does not result in more pay for coaches, like it does for teachers.
