On the Minnesota Volleyball Facebook page, there are pics of the girls in their Halloween costumes. There’s a pic of Murr and Shaff standing outside the plane before they are taking off. Murr is in a boot. I hope that’s nothing…. But don’t believe it’s part of the costume. Could be really interesting if she can’t play! She's standing on one leg on the booted foot, I'm thinking it can't be too bad. I think she'll play. We can all hope it’s an UGH boot joke |

Some number of years ago, the UW women's volleyball team came out on the field to be introduced to the crowd during a timeout of a football game (like they do every year). That year, I think there were three of them in boots. They all played the next day, or next week, etc.

Sounds like Murr has a chronic injury but it doesn't impact her ability to play.

They all played the next day, or next week, etc. I know at SC a few years ago Alicia Ogoms wore a boot all week and didn’t even practice (IIRC) and played in matches. |

I hope MN can get double digits. So you're taking the under 51 points? After last night's surprises - Illinois over Purdue, Michigan State over Penn State - I'm remembering what Sheffield said after the Badgers' messy win at Michigan State: "Don't take winning for granted".
The Gophers will be fired up, style points won't matter and anything can happen. Just get that W and move on.

When was the last time these two teams faced each other when one team wasn't ranked? November 21, 2012 when #11 Minnesota swept Wisconsin at the Field House with only 2,852 in attendance on a Wednesday. Katherine Harms led the Gophers with 12 kills. |

Maybe badgers will play like Purdue did vs Illinois
But I doubt it
At the conclusion I hope a national audience respects a hard fought B1G battle
There has been a lot of talk about a.weaker conference this year

This thread, so far, is a view into Upper Midwestern Anthropology. Minnesotans fans tempering their expectations by expecting to get killed. Wisconsin fans tempering their expectations by expecting to get a bit of a battle. It's all about pain management. |

I live in Seattle. The Seahawks are at home today with a 1 PM PDT start [3 PM CDT] on Fox [no 10 AM game on locally]. Looks like the Badgers / Gophers won't be shown here. What a bummer. GO BADGERS.
