Kansas is very tough defensively, but Kansas State is coming in with confidence and have some solid weapons. Kansas should be favored to win both, but wouldn't be surprising if it is a split result.

Who constructed this poll? We can only vote once? This election is rigged! 😆

Who constructed this poll? We can only vote once? This election is rigged! 😆 “Choose wisely.” Oops. Sorry. I think I have to trash the whole poll (and votes) to change anything… but that’s what I will do in a couple minutes.

Apologies for having to throw out the early (mostly mail-in, we think) votes due to faulty ballots. I promise that the tabulators are working now, and it's unlikely that you'll be prosecuted if you vote again... but that's up to the local D.A.

I think this will be a good weekend of volleyball for Kansas and K State. Two rivals going at it, both teams are hot, both teams are working on their positioning in the tournament. Kansas is safer than K State, but Kansas is working towards a top 16 seed. Kansas state is trying to lock their way into an at large bid. Its a big weekend.
It really helps that Kansas is at home. They get their crowd behind them. I think Kansas has played more consistently this year. Other than the 5 set lost at Texas Tech (a bad loss), Kansas has handled business. K State on the other hand has been really up and down this year. Lucky for them they played crazy well last weekend against BYU. But Kansas brings a totally different challenge than BYU and K State has to go on the road.
From what I see from Kansas State offensively is that they rely on their outsides a lot. I know Carter gets all the hype, but Clinton these last three games has been very good. K state seems to not get much production from the RS, and Bolding is very good in the middle.
Kansas state is coming off their two biggest wins in a long time. Im interested to see how K State responds to that. Kansas doesn’t have even one win that big this year, but Kansas has been handling business. Since losing 2 at Texas, Kansas has won 12 of their last 13 sets. While K State is the better blocking team, Kansas is better in serve receive and defense. Also Kansas has the better setter in Turner. I think BYU really struggled finding offense from someone other than Livingston, Kansas can not go down that same path. Kansas needs Elnady, Davis, and Onabanjo to perform along side Cooper who needs to continue to be stellar.

Definitely a big set of matches for both squads - I think K-State has to find some offensive diversity beyond their outsides or KU will limit them defensively. This means they obviously have to pass well too.
Though the opponents have been poor, Kansas’s block has looked a lot more disciplined over the last couple weeks. Couple this with consistent stellar floor defense and this team is looking somewhat equal defensively from last year with a lot better firepower on offense (kudos to Turner for being outstanding this year and Bien/Burns/Dalton for generally being good on serve receive and in-system digs). I imagine they’re going to make Carter pass just about every ball they can.

The 5-1 has been working well for Kansas State, however I would be shocked if they stay in that all weekend and don't see the 6-2. Also, Aniya Clinton has been great since moving to OH.

Kansas takes first two sets, but KSU takes set 3. Kansas' Davis with 22 kills, 1 error, hitting .636 is amazing.
