Setter Morgan Bergren will be at camp next week signed to a try-out. Evans won't be at mini-camp because she's still in Bucharest.  |

skimmed the podcast and took some notes! -Missed the team aspect of indoor volleyball. It felt good to revisit that part of her life that she had “closed off” for 6 years while playing indoor. -Says that the hardest skill to work on has been serve receive because the ball comes at you much faster than beach volleyball. Just trying to adjust to 6-on-6 volleyball again, but she loves it. -She has been training a little bit of everything. Doesn’t know what position she’s playing yet. At first she wanted to be a libero, but she would love to play OH because you’re doing everything. At the end of the day, she trains everything because she wants to be on the court. -Loves being a gym rat. There’s no sun, no rain, no wind. She knows she’s gonna go into the gym and get good reps. -Going to the Olympics was a lifelong dream come true and it was great to be there (minus the COVID part). Said it was hard after because it wasn’t fulfilling. Her mindset was always Olympics, Olympics, Olympics. Beach players don’t really get to relax that much. Her perspective shifted over the last year. She wanted to be home more (this seems like a big reason why she switched to indoor, she mentions wanting to be with her family more). -One of the things that helped change her perspective was a trip to Kenya. It was a great trip where she got to give back. She ended up getting an invite to play with the Kenyan NT and got to play indoor VB again with them. -When she stopped beach, she had no Plan B in place and didn’t know her next steps. -When asked “Why PVF? And why not San Diego?” she said quite honestly she doesn’t know what LOVB is doing. She had a chance meeting with one of the girls on the Atlanta team at an airport and got a rundown of what everything was. She got a contact through Kerri and started cold calling people about opportunities. She contacted San Diego, Grand Rapids, and Atlanta. People were asking for film and she didn’t really have film, so she wanted someone that believed in her right away and what she could do. When she got on the phone with Cathy she fell in love with her and had a great conversation with her. -Sees beach volleyball kinda doing what college beach vb/PVF is doing. Maybe 5 pairs representing a city, the 5 pairs playing teams from different cities, etc. I’d honestly love to see her as an OH again. When she played OH for LMU she was basically a 2nd libero + 2nd setter as well. |

The Rise didn't have their game units for the exhibition, but they passed out a sheet with the roster that has player #'s
