HistoryThe Series: Illinois leads 49-47-1 In Madison: Wisconsin leads 24-17-1 In Champaign: Illinois leads 23-22 Neutral: Illinois leads 9-1 The Streak: Wisconsin has won eight in a row. Last Meeting: Wisconsin swept on 10/7/23 in Champaign. Did you know…? On this day in 1925, Nellie Tayloe Ross was elected governor of Wyoming. She was the first woman governor of a US state and is the only woman to ever serve as governor of Wyoming. Nellie Tayloe was born in Missouri in 1876. She was a teacher by training. She married William Ross, a Wyoming attorney and politician in 1902. William Ross, a Democrat, was elected governor in 1922, but died in 1924 due to complications from an appendectomy. He was succeeded in office by Republican Secretary of State Frank Lucas. The Democratic Party nominated Nellie Tayloe Ross to run in the special election following her husband’s death, and she easily defeated Lucas. An avowed Prohibitionist, Tayloe Ross advocated for government assistance for poor farmers, banking reform, and laws protecting children, women workers, and miners. She urged Wyoming to ratify a pending federal amendment prohibiting child labor. She ran for re-election in 1926 but did not actively campaign for herself, relying instead on surrogates. That, plus her support for prohibition, resulted in her narrow defeat. She remained active in Democratic politics in Wyoming. In 1933, FDR nominated her to be the first woman Director of the US Mint, a role she held for 20 years. She died in 1977 at the age of 101.

The Badgers should be laser focused tonight. Louisville lost to Georgia Tech last night and Stanford lost last Sunday; now, 3 losses for Stanford and 3 for Louisville. The road to a Top 4 Seed is clear and The Badgers should be 1 or 2 if they win out. It starts tonight with a sweep of The Fighting Illini.
GO BADGERS.

Even if they lose to Nebraska again, they will still almost certainly be a top 4 seed and host a regional.

Illinois setter Brooke Mosher is from Waterloo, which is in the Madison area. Does anyone know if she is related Phil Mosher, who was an outstanding athlete at Stoughton High School. Phil graduated in 1969, so he's about the right age to be her grandfather. -Just wondering...
