Not gonna lie -- after that 1st set, I thought we were DOA but way to fight back and get into the groove, Purdue! Rough night for Hudson but she was getting a lot of the junk balls in the first 2 sets. She made a nice comeback and was great defensively. I guess Colvin read my post about her because WOW. There's the offensive Raven we love to see. And what a "welcome back" party for Wollard who was absolutely clutch from every aspect of the game. Big ups to Hornung who stepped her game up tremendously! 20 digs in right back, only playing 3 rotations. Incredible. I don’t think Colvin read your post, I just think she was playing Minnesota I've been there, but man Minnesota fans are down on their team this year.

I think it’s kind of justified given the amount of talent on the roster lol. No hate to Purdue. Good team and young talent. But MN has shot themselves in the foot since the second week of the season and haven’t looked back

Minnesota continues to show that they are consistently inconsistent. At times, they played great defense. Other times, it was slow and not ready. Purdue has good defense and that contributed to our lower hitting percentages, however, from the streaming camera angle you can really see how inconsistent Shaff's sets were tonight. Many were too tight and many were too far off for our hitters to get a good swing. I'm still wondering why the only slide that they attempt is to Grote and not either middle.
This would have been a really nice victory to get even though it wasn't a "must win".

One of these female announcers is excellent. The other one has me poising my finger over the mute button...she's giving incorrect information, repeating what the other announcer says, saying things that are completely obvious, or spouting off what she's reading off the bios and stat sheets...constant talking or yelling. The good one is Meredith Nelson, former Gopher MB

I felt like it was a must win in terms of confidence boosting heading into the last few weeks. 🤷♀️ I thought our passing was pretty good so having Z in helped. Was surprised to see her. The sets to Grote were off the whole night and neither OH could hit the floor after the 1st set. Purdue had our number this year. Disappointed we had another streak broken tonight, it is just not our year. 😥

Hudson looked like she was feeling less than 100% tonight. She came through clutch in the 4th.

A mystery to me how the Gophers could play such dominant VB the first set and then proceed to disappear from the match the last 3 sets. Murr's superb efforts seemed wasted.

Set K E TA Pct Sideout Pct
1 17 5 33 .364 13-18 72% 2 11 6 44 .114 13-24 54% 3 8 6 40 .050 13-25 52% 4 9 8 47 .021 13-24 54%
I will NOT look forward to seeing what adjustments were made by Purdue to shut off our offense In that regard, if our H% dropped .250 between set 1 and set 2 what adjustment did MN NOT make to remedy the situation
I suspect that Purdue realized we have a largely one dimensional attack and they sent their MB to our OHs Shaff's set locations on back sets to Grote were by & large not fast enough to give her 1 on 1s. It's kind of odd that they practice back 2s pregame, but don't employ them much in the match
I am going to pay particular attention to the big swings & kills Wookie & TayLa DID have and what about the set height & placement worked in their favor.
