Both Washington matches went 5 that season. I remember being at the USC-Washington football game and they announced that USC had beaten Washington 3-2 in volleyball (I hated that football and volleyball matches sometimes overlapped, but back in those times, the PAC-10 was in a brutal Fri-Sat back-to-back nights format). I think it was good prep for the NCAA Tournament though.

So, if we consider that WSU's collapse started when they lost to USC after winning the first two sets by about the margin the Women are putting on them here, it could be a fitting bookend for them to turn it around.
. . . But I don't know if I see it.
The shanks are an issue, but I also think the pressure has worn Ung down and she's struggling to locate. Plus, the Wazzu "fire" does not seem as fiery, or as unified as it is when they are good.

Not sure we ever heard any backstory, but Tuaniga does seem to be moving 100% better than she was in September. The USC ball control is night and day better than September, which makes her look a lot better aside from how she is moving. Trubint, Snook and Wijay are working really well together on defense.
