I think they need more transfers. They get Wucherer next year. As I've said before, while the experiment of what Sheffield and staff could get out of her would be interesting, she might very well not get on the floor.

Honestly, the badgers are better with Orzol at libero this year. She spends too much time on the floor after swings when at OH, probably because she is out of practice and dealing with poor sets. I'm worried that when she goes back to being L, there will be another period of adjustment. This is a real good point, because Wisconsin was humming a few weeks ago. They likely had their best backcourt ever just recently. Injuries can prove to be game changing. But that Wisconsin defense was unreal against nebraska

So, because I promised myself this after the Florida match, I should also make a positive statement about the badgers. They had some periods of poor play this match, especially in the 2nd and 3rd, but they made themselves competitive again the last two sets. That resilience is a good thing. They found a way and, but for a few plays that could have gone either way, they could have won the match. They have to get to the point where that balance at the end of matches slides towards them. The margins at this stage in the season are not determined by the same things as they are earlier in the season. Let me help you out: * Franklin was incredible offensively. I'm sure the plan wasn't for her to carry the entire team but guess what? She did. She wasn't even supposed to play this season and she didn't disappoint tonight. * Robinson made a HUGE comeback after 2 seta of nothing but errors. She didn't have another single error after that. She adjusted and that's important. * GG was everywhere. She's the main reason Chicoine hit for such a low percentage tonight because she covered so much ground. * TTA made a big jump on the right side tonight. Most of her errors/getting blocked came from swings on the left. * Booth's braids looked tiiiiight on TV. Gorgeous. No notes. Wisconsin didn't lose to a bottom B1G team. They lost to #3 who can be inconsistent but has been pretty tough and competitive at home. And they lost in extra points in a 5th set. I promise y'all, as happy I am for my team, Wisconsin is still a Top 3 to 5 team. Even better with Smrek and Orzoł at libero.

I call upon the power of the Big Red Machine: hear me o' great ones! O' Mighty Merritt! Legendary Lexi! Herculean Harper! Brilliant Bergen! Beastly Bekka! Send these Boilermakers your courage. Your brilliance. Your wrath! Let your energy flow through them so that they may come out on the other side of this battle as victors! Take your witchcraft over to the UCLA-Stanford match 😝

From Turkey, but she has an excuse, she’s big..habit 🤔

They get Wucherer next year. ...or skinner She's already used her 'one time' undergrad transfer. Unless she is graduating this year, she can't transfer again.

Tough to win in West Lafayette this year. . Tough to win there every year. In 2021, UW won the Big Ten and national championships... and lost to Purdue twice.

Back from a terrific match 😵💫 haven’t looked at the actual stats but sure glad the Hudson’s 🚂 beat the Franklin’s 🦡 told Coach Sheff that he still should win that Husker match at home 🤔 we shall see 😳 heroic battle in set 5 after disastrous set 4 by my Boilers resulted in a great birthday 🎂 present for me (well, it’s this Sunday) 🖤💛

Our back row was on a great rhythm with Julia at L and Gulce at DS. Unless we are getting good production in blocks and hitting with moving Temi to RS, I think it's better to go minimize the shuffling (1 player instead of 3 changing positions/roles) by just going to a 5-1 with Izzy. Temi hit much better at RS tonight (.280 on 10 kills and 3 errors) than at PSU (-.188 on 3 kills and 6 errors). But she had only one block at PSU and zero tonight. I have to think Izzy would have recorded at least one block in those 9 sets. The good thing is that Anna appears to be on the verge of returning so that decision will hopefully be moot soon.
