HIGH SCHOOL AVCA First Team Under Armour All-American...ranked as the No. 10 recruit in the country by PrepVolleyball…senior season was named John Turner Adidas All-Tournament and Fraulein Fest All-Tournament…as a junior named the Greater Houston Volleyball Coaches’ Association Player of the Year…Texas Volleyball Coaches’ Association All-State Team and District Setter of the Year (2018)…member of state runner-up team in 2018 and District champions in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. Did we do these in previous years? I love these so much. What a great introduction to Rutherford. |

So I just caught up on the Nebraska v. Kentucky match and noticed that Andi Jackson and Harper Murray are on the finger tape train. . . LOL

I agree they’re a nice way to introduce newcomers to the casual fan and a friendly reminder and get to know you post for the more in depth fan. |

Allegedly it helps protect the joints by giving extra stability. Maybe that’s true or not. If it was more widely accepted my feeling is it would be more widely used. More importantly to me, it’s a signature look for Longhorn teams. No one should be forced to wear tape on their fingers, but I personally get unjustifiably excited when a former hold out starts taping their fingers, or when newcomers adopt the custom. It’s emotionally important to me from a fan perspective. |

Personally I think it's more mental than anything else. It takes a little bit of time to tape up, you get into the competitive headspace. Plus some of the players write little messages to themselves, reminders and motivationals etc |
