This makes zero sense. A&M beat Florida, Utah State, Northern Iowa (THREE TOP 32 SEEDED TEAMS!!) + Pepperdine. What do you want??? With a good RPI!! Last-day results - overreact or ignore. They flipped Texas St. and A&M. But for some reason Tennessee's didn't matter at all. Actually, this make sense. By Saturday afternoon -- seeds were set - so ignore Tennesee but overreact to at-larges. |

The SEC is so freakin' good at gaming the RPI year in and year out in every sport. 8 teams into the tourney is insane, that's 1/8 of the bracket. especially when it’s not unreasonable to say none make the Elite 8. there's something to be said for how deep a conf is, for sure. but I don't think RPI is a good indicator of that, and they claim to not rely on RPI too much. but, some of these seeds / inclusions say otherwise IMO. |
