I just watched half a set of a Houston match and they are a very good team. I hope UCSB can pull this off but they are the underdog here and that might provide some extra motivation since I am sure they believe they are the better team. Wish UCSB the best and look forward to another Big West win in this tournament.

I've seen full matches of both teams this season. Houston is a strong team with some big arms and a good libero. UCSB will need the rotations with Zhao and Reavis in to at least sideout if they can't go on runs. In my opinion, the other pins in Ohwobete, McKnight and Farmer and primed and ready to battle. I cringe every time they go into those rotations with Zhao/Reavis 😬

Houston is a strong team but can be hot and cold. We will see which version shows up tonight.

Reavis isn't so bad to me but Zhao and her stone hands got me feeling cold. During the presser after their LBSU loss, Ohwobete was asked about Zhao and her transfer. She answered so gracefully but she didn't say a thing about her setting lol

UH has some serious talent. They didn't have as good of a season as I thought they would. Like someone else said, they were hot and cold.
Pablo loves Houston. I don't think they can upset Stanford in the next round, but I'm hopeful for a miracle. Go Cougs!

Cheering for Big West member UCSB, but I think Houston wins this one. Unless the Gauchos play all-world like, Houston wins.

I would want Tasia in more often than not to provide offense or use Zhao as a DS since her floor D is good. Neither would have to pass since McKnight, Peed and Ohwobete platoon the passing line. I don't recall the last time the Gauchos haven't used a 6-2. It's in their program DNA at this point and to deviate from it now would most likely not yield immediate good results.

Like others have said though, their other setter (blanking on her name) has some pretty nice hands and would be a front runner for soy if they ran a 5-1 IMO
