I TOLD THE HAWAII FANS TO BELIEVE!!! GO BOWS!!!! I honestly do believe but I easily get anxiety attacks in these types of high stress sports. No can handle especially when things going bad. I just gotta give myself a time out and go do something else and hope for the best instead of stressing every point. Otherwise I hyperventilate. I already have high blood pressure. I don’t need an aneurysm to go along with that. Glad they pulled through. If there's one good thing about having losses in the season is that the team doesn't get afraid of losing and can just play.

The way Robyn was substituting players, she has a firm grasp of what her players are capable of doing. The way she use Talia Edmonds, Kendra Ham, and even Colby Lane, at the service line.

The Wahine take down a good Big 12 team! Na Wahine hit .276 to the Cyclones .186. The big difference in this match was the unforced errors where ISU committed 14 unforced hitting errors to the Wahine's 8. The Wahine out blocked the Cyclones 13-5 but this was a floor defense battle with both teams scooping up 70+ digs in the match. The ISU serve was stronger the Hawaii's but the Wahine held on a weathered the storm. The margins in this match was thin with the Wahine siding out at 59.3% and ISU siding out at 58.2%. The star of this match for me was Riley Wagoner. She stabilized the passing and defense and even threw in kills and blocks for good measure. Robyn again showed that she is able to make changes on the fly with inserting Tali to the opposite and bringing in Talia and Colby to steady out the serving and even used Ham's serve in the serving specialist position. Congrats to the Cyclones for a great season. They were a pleasure to watch. Eh she was okay.... Fair enough, anake! Her numbers weren't "otherworldly" as some would say but after the first set she had 0 kills and 3 errors. She went 9 kills and 1 error the rest of the way while also covering for Tayli in the passing line which is why I chose her. In my opinion, Hawaii gets slaughtered without Wags.

I talkin' about the relatively newbie non-believers that run for the hills as soon as this teams faces even an inkling of adversity. They calling quits already and our team not even Pau play yet! Lol

She was definitely the "Momentum Breaker" for The Cyclones. YASSSSSS Wags!

She did a little of everything for the team, but she really dug some bombs in that back court. We lose without her on the floor for sure.

Iowa State is making their 17th NCAA tournament appearance. The Cyclones are 62-61 (.504) in sets played since their first appearance in 1995. They have reached: Elite Eight 2 times -- 2008,2011 Sweet Sixteen 3 times -- 2007,2009,2012. Hawai'i is making their 41st NCAA tournament appearance. The Rainbow Wahine are 281-150 (.652) in sets played since their first appearance in 1981. They have: won 3 National Championships 1982 1983 1987
and reached: Runners Up 2 times -- 1988,1996 Final Four 4 times -- 2000,2002,2003,2009 Elite Eight 10 times -- 1981,1986,1989,1991,1993,1995,1998,2006,2008,2015 Sweet Sixteen 9 times -- 1985,1990,1994,1999,2001,2004,2005,2011,2019. Hawaii won a National Championship in 1979 too.
True, though I was only listing NCAA tournament results for these (though I did note Texas 1981 AIAW title, as I KNEW they would call that out). I guess I could add 3 for USC and one for Utah State too.

What stood out to me is that she really started to take her technique seriously in the back row (starting in the 2nd set.) Her platform was solid, her arms were quiet and her angles were clean. When she started to focus on how she was contacting the ball, all of sudden the game slowed down and she was reading well.

This Wahine Team will not be as down as some people may think next year. Give Paula Guersching, Stella Adeyemi, and Tali Hakas, a whole Spring season of practice, which they did not have going into this season, they will be really good next year. Caylen Alexander will be a BEAST next year, after another Spring season of training. You add the recruited players, and this Wahine may just end up being better then this year's team. They are going. to have to have some big upside in the middle for them to be better as a team. At least one middle will be a true freshman but a good one. I agree the pins will be very good. Milana Sylvester will not be to far off of what Amber Igiede was as a Freshman. Plus, do not count out Jacyn Bamis. I am expecting some big things from her next season. She has the quickness to move from pin to pin, that the Wahine have not had in a while. Not to mention, the back row play should be much better with the addition of Victoria Leyva. You can even toss in Colby Lane in the back row next year, also.
