No intel but I’m guessing concussion for Barnes.
Seems like in 2026, Illini are going to need a backup setter. They will have one setter as it stands.

One of the players on this list told me a couple months ago that she's not returning next year. Suffice it to say that you won't be surprised with who it is and that there's no big story behind it.
(No, I'm not an insider. I just had occasion to meet a couple of the players, so we chatted about their future plans, and she volunteered this info quite freely.)

P.S. The post above referred to a list which is now on the previous page. (Hey, can someone tell me how to include previous posts in my own? when I hit "Quote," it just reproduces that post without giving me an option to add anything of my own -- at least not as far as I can tell. But you all do it, so I must be missing something that should be obvious.)

I got no intel on any of the above but thought I'd add some context to Item 3. Our current projected roster for 2026 is 17 players (this includes our two 2026 signees, Madison Miles and Maya Harris) and it sounds like the NCAA is set to enact a roster cap starting in 2025 of 18 players, all potentially could be on scholarship. So at this moment we've got one roster spot open for 2026. *It just now dawned on me that our 2025 projected roster is at 18, which does not include any injured 2024 seniors currently on the roster. I wouldn't think we'd be able to retain senior redshirts for next season. Seniors (2025)

Thanks for sharing, not too many biggies in the freshman roster.. we have had a good run on height last few years. Fingers crossed that is a trend we are working on. Strange how all of the sudden we are moving away from trees on the outside (6’3” - 6’-4”) to 6ft hitters. I hope they have some serious hops and can pass nails. I dont see Wysocki seeing any playing time behind TdB/Smith/Hernandez.

I think we all know it’s most likely Kayla. Had a lot of high hopes for her but she played very hot & cold and inconsistent.

This wasn't obvious to me at first (partly coz it's hard to see with the color schemes I get). The space for replying is then just below (and slightly outdented from) the quoted text.

Yes that is true but we have to remember she was a middle and came to play OP. I think we will really miss her she has a lot of energy and enthusiasm. Always tough to see them go.

But you all do it, so I must be missing something that should be obvious.) Here's a quick, four-step tutorial on how to quote someone in a post in VolleyTalk. The gist of each step is written in yellow and the annotated screen capture for each step follows. I was quoting your post in the tutorial, for your reference. Let me know if you have any follow-up questions!
1. Click the quote button on whichever post you want to quote.
2. Click outside of, and below the text box you're quoting.
3. Hit enter so your blinking cursor moves down one line.
4. Click the Create Post button.

illinivbfan1992, in addition to exit237a's explanation, I also often click on 'bbcode' and reply there since it's easier to see the end of the quote. If I need to do any formatting, I will flip back to the preview tab.

Hey fellow Illini! Got a match thread up finally for Wednesday night's home match against Indiana: Indiana took a set off of #3 Penn State yesterday and only had five fewer points than PSU in the whole match. Going to be a tough test for the Orange and Blue but I believe in them!
