The good news: BTN's At the Net did a profile of the Reilly sisters. The bad news: They only interviewed Bergen, not Raegen (even though Bergen's talking about her sister pretty much the whole time).
Here it is:

However, I really enjoyed Bergen's interview and her focus on her relationship with her sister, Raegen. I see similarities in their calm composures as setters. Great story!

Watching UCLA v PSU. Although outgunned UCLA is giving PSU all they can handle. Watching an Alfee coached team makes me wish he was still here.

I caught parts of the Nebraska match on the radio, but was in and out of the broadcast. I missed the parts where we used Taylor DeBoer for Cari, but like the move since Cari's an offensive non-factor. From what I can tell from the box score, however, we didn't always make the sub at the same point in the match. Looks like once we subbed in Taylor to break a Nebraska run (successfully), then went right back to Cari. Other times, Taylor seems to have come in on Cari's last rotation, then was replaced by Philpot.
Can anyone tell me who we had in the front row in the rotations where we brought Taylor in? Was it always the same group?

Was it always the same group? The first time it was Taylor in at opposite and Laynie played middle. I don’t remember which outside was in front row with them. Then Taylor came in later and got a crafty tip kill to the campfire from the left pin. Her first swing from opposite was a bomb down the line that Rodriguez dug but it was a rocket. Nice to see Taylor out there! Cool wrinkle to utilize them like that.

Other than the fact Laynie has been terrific at opposite, what are the chances she plays middle full time with Taylor taking over at opposite. It is a move I would be in favor of if we could get nearly the same production from Taylor at the opposite position. Laynie runs an effective slide and has hit quicks in front of the setter several times this year.
I’m not certain blocking is one of Laynie’s strengths. Is this the reason she has not played middle this year even when Cari appears to be struggling? Early in the year someone thought Cari has been hurt but playing through it out of necessity.
It was really good to see Taylor making a contribution. We need to see more of it!
Finally, I was really struck by how much better Nebraska’s passing is than ours.

We showed promise against Nebraska, but key areas held us back. Our attack lacked efficiency, with Raina Terry and Averie Hernandez leading in attempts but struggling to keep the Nebraska defense on its heels. Raina contributed solidly, but if we don’t start spreading offensive production, we’ll remain too predictable against top defenses. Defensively, CMM’s 13 digs helped, but Nebraska exploited our gaps, controlling tempo and limiting our transitions. Blocking was also a challenge; Nebraska’s front-row attackers had too much freedom. Tdb’s 500 hitting percentage showed potential, and her 6’4” height could add needed strength to our block. Yes it was only a few swings but I was happy to see her get into the lineup. I have to agree with the above posts, let’s see what we have in her. Mosher’s 31 assists were solid, but more offensive variability would have helped keep defenses guessing. Overall, we have the pieces to compete, but consistency, defensive coverage, and a balanced offense moving forward will help us keep momentum. I did not expect us to win and when we got close I wish we could have just capitalized for at least one set. We cannot win games or go far without contributions from all of our players including our offense. Hernandez is struggling with her SR of late and with 6 points and 6 errors we end up a net/ net of 0. I would personally like to see Tdb in the front row and Hernandez in the back row as a hybrid to see what we can generate. This way Hernandez could still contribute to back row attacks (although shes not been set much in this regard) and Tdb could put up a bigger block and swing away. This kind of sub rotation would give us the best flexibility depending on how Hernandez is doing. Maybe Tamas is getting the picture that shifts are a normal part of the game, we shall see. I like Smith on OPP and expect some mistakes given she is a freshman however she plays like a middle which is why I think she surprises so many. Will it be sustainable, not sure, but so far so good.

Taylor came in for one rotation in the first set. She had 5 swings on the left side and looked good, even though none hit the ground. I was disappointed it was her only appearance.
We played reasonably well, although we had several match points in the 3d set but couldn't close. Fortunately we took control early in the 4th set and put the match away convincingly.
There were a few times when someone must have ordered Brooke to run the middle, which she did effectively, until the order faded away. It was almost as though she thought she had done what she had been told to do and could revert to her comfort zone. Our pins would be so much more effective if she was more aggressive with Ashley and Cari. Cari has to do a better job of making herself available, although I understand how frustrating it might be to go up time after time only to watch the ball go somewhere else.

We need production from our middles to pull the block, even for a little. Take the pressure off our outsides.
