Alfie returns and his squad passes us off the court. Hmmm... Yep he started having them serve a dying short serve in the second with the second libero and we were like stuck in cement and couldn't pass it so he had them all do it the next two sets and we never adjusted. And they passed great of course.

It’s great to hear that we might be fine with this loss with regard to the tourney. I think we’re finishing stronger this year compared to last. I truly believe we’re in a good position to take Indiana—it’s a winnable match if we execute well. Minnesota, on the other hand, will be a tougher challenge. They’re a strong team, and it’s going to take everything we’ve got to compete at their level. Tonight’s performance was sluggish; there’s no other way to describe it. The players looked fatigued across the board, which isn’t surprising given how tight our rotation has been. This is the grind of a long season—It’s hard not to wonder if we may have peaked too soon, but that’s a question only time will answer. For now, I’m confident tonight was just an off night. The focus needs to be on regrouping, re-energizing, and finding that edge again. If we can bring our best against both Minnesota and Indiana, we’ll solidify our position for the tournament. Let’s go all in and make it happen!

Indiana just beat UCLA in three sets: 25/19, 25/18 and 25/20. They aren't going to roll over for us.

The UCLA lineup they played against didn’t include their star MB, Anna Dodson who had 14 kills, hitting over .600 against us but the Hoosiers have been playing pretty tough nonetheless and will be motivated on their senior night Friday.

Indiana just beat UCLA in three sets: 25/19, 25/18 and 25/20. They aren't going to roll over for us. For sure, especially on their Senior Night. This match feels like a pure toss-up. Although there's one big difference between their game against UCLA and ours: Anna Dodson didn't play at Indiana. Her 14 kills against us (.611) and net presence (many block touches) certainly were felt. In the close fourth set, her four kills and two blocks were pretty big. We might have lost anyway -- the serve-pass game was the most important factor -- but Indiana got a break not having to deal with her.
Edit: While I was writing, I see exit237 already said this stuff. But since I don't know how to delete my post, I'll settle for just acknowledging exit's!

Tonight’s performance was sluggish; there’s no other way to describe it. The players looked fatigued across the board, which isn’t surprising given how tight our rotation has been. "Sluggish" is a good word for it. Even from the start, we seemed unfocused. Communications problems we haven't seen much for more than a month cropped up again -- confusion, balls dropping between them, etc. In timeouts, CMM was working to get everyone on the same page. We cleaned this up somewhat as the night went along, but by then, the Bruins smelled too much blood in the water. Gotta root for UCLA the rest of the way now. They close at Iowa, then go home against Oregon. Winning both would get them over .500, and knocking off the Ducks late would make our loss look a bit better. Up until now, we'd avoided the bad loss. Maybe UCLA can take themselves out of that category. They're not a Tournament team, but they've played a bunch of top teams tough.

RPI #32 this week. I would be really happy with a 1-1 record this weekend just to be safe.

Wonderful! She's back in her home state, just half an hour or so from Marengo, where she played in high school. And as it happens, she went in the draft right after her friend, Emily Londot.

Hey Illinois! I've got a draft thread up for Wednesday night's Senior Night match against Minnesota. I'll get lineups added sometime tomorrow.
