Whoa. Hopefully not Terry. My bet is Burbage. She had a shoulder injury apparently and was training at middle. I wonder if that was to lessen the impact on her shoudler through Spring. So unfortunate if so. That’s too bad. Hopefully she will be able to red shirt. Not sure what her eligibility status is. |

I know I haven't built up much of a reputation on these boards which may put my credibility/reliability to question, but I wanted to share this. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but according to a source that I trust that is close to the team, a senior will be missing the season due to surgery to correct an injury. I won't share much further to respect the privacy of the player who I'm sure will make an announcement when they are ready, but it's being viewed as the player playing no volleyball this year. I have a hunch you are talking about a nagging shoulder injury. I can only hope surgery will correct the problem and she can play a redshirt year if she so chooses if it is the problem I suspect. |

Now that the roster is coming together, any thoughts on possible starting lineups? Will Burbage shift back to a MH position? Who starts at the OH with Terry? Will any freshmen crack the starting lineup? Tamas will finally have options at each position - looking forward to the new season. Here's my early prediction (barring injuries): OH: Terry, Hernandez MH: Bohm, Burbage OPP: DeBoer S: Mosher L: Barnes DS: Martinez Mundo, Barry Assuming that Burbage is the senior in question that will have surgery, I'm amending my predicted lineup: OH: Terry, Hernandez MH: Bohm, Philpot OPP: DeBoer S: Mosher DS: Martinez Mundo, Barry |

So unfortunate if so. I second this. And this is why we pick up transfers on the pins. We seem to be hit by the injury bug. Inpaign, can you confirm? Burbage can medical redshirt. |

If she redshirts, that leave us with 1 spare pin. Man we have some bad luck. In a pinch Bingham is able to play the right side. I thought she played “capably” when thrown into the role last year. Both Taylor and Laynie can play both pins. That effectively leaves us with two pin subs. While not as deep as we would like to be, and how fortunate is Averie’s transferring, we are still in OK shape. |

Bingham is more a MB than an Opp. Having a “capable” player isn’t going to help us place high in the Big 10 and make a run in the tourney. Id be scouring the portal to see if anyone is left. Someone rolls an ankle and we are gonna be in trouble.

Pins: Terry, Hernandez, TdB, Smith MB: Bohm, Philipot, Dean Utility: Bingham I think I’d take a OH/OPP over a MB. |

I think we have better depth at the pins in the event someone else isn’t able to play. I almost can’t believe I’m saying this, but we probably are more at risk in the middle if either Bohm or Philpot is unable to play.
