If the best we can do is 8th even with the extra four teams I will be very disappointed. I think we will be better than that. Nebraska, Wisc, Oregon, Wash, PSU, Purdue. Top 6 then we have UCLA/USC/MINN/OSU/ILL. all right there. It’s going to be a dogfight. Illinois in the range of 6th-9th seems very reasonable. It would be shocking development if Washington was top 6. Huskies will be more likely 11th-13th with Indiana and Michigan State.

Rumor on another thread of a BIG de-commit. Possibly Bullington from NU. Maybe Averie can give her a call.

Paris Roster should be named this week. JP played VNL this week with most of the starters. Lets all send some positive vibes that she gets named to the team.

Congrats to Jordyn Poulter - she was named to the 2024 Olympic team and will represent the United States (and Illinois) in Paris this summer.

Congrats to Jordyn Poulter - she was named to the 2024 Olympic team and will represent the United States (and Illinois) in Paris this summer. Even more amazing that she came back from tearing her ACL, PCL, MCL & meniscus. Thats a devastating injury that most people don’t come back from.

Former Illini Erin Virtue and Alfee Reft will also be assistant coaches for the Olympic team!

Coach Tamas will be on WDWS Newstalk this afternoon at 4:40 PM. Hopefully, we'll get some scoop on the roster additions and schedule for the fall season. www.news-gazette.com/wdws/

No exciting updates or news from the interview. As usual, the hosts wasted a lot of time with lame questions. I'm fairly convinced they know very little about volleyball and only follow the program peripherally. Tamas was calling in from a prospect camp that he is hosting in Birmingham, AL. Anyone have any ideas what 2026 prospects he may be targeting from Alabama (or GA and MS)? Much of the interview was focused on Jordyn Poulter. Tamas believes Poulter is playing well and will likely be the starting setter in Paris. He mentioned he likes to have three setters on the roster in case he needs to have Mosher take swings in certain situations (though I'm not sure why one additional setter isn't enough to do this). Unfortunately, the hosts didn't press him on the incoming players, so Tamas offered little insight about the freshman or transfer players.

I know I haven't built up much of a reputation on these boards which may put my credibility/reliability to question, but I wanted to share this. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but according to a source that I trust that is close to the team, a senior will be missing the season due to surgery to correct an injury. I won't share much further to respect the privacy of the player who I'm sure will make an announcement when they are ready, but it's being viewed as the player playing no volleyball this year.

Hopefully not Terry. My bet is Burbage. She had a shoulder injury apparently and was training at middle. I wonder if that was to lessen the impact on her shoudler through Spring. So unfortunate if so.
